Quite simple, I'm looking to buy BPOs from the npcs but I can't figure out how can you tell you're buying a) from an npc, and b) a BPO while on the market. In contracts it clearly states copy and original, but when I click to show info on the BPs in the marketplace I only get a generic info sheet which doesn't even state if it's an original or copy.
Any help would be appreciated. - - - Aloriana Jacques - Skill Sheet

All blueprints on the market are originals. You can't trade copies via the market.
Not only are they originals, but they are ME:0, PE:0 originals that were never used to manufacture any items. If you so much as open a quote window (for anything, be it research or manufacture), the BPO "unpacks", can't be repackaged, and therefore can't be resold on the market.
NPC orders have a 1-year duration, player orders have a max 3-month duration. You can easily tell if an order is NPC or player-made by looking at that.

What Akita said, but also explaining the reason for this behaviour: a BP on contracts exists as an item, it has attributes. One on the market doesn't actually exist as an instance yet, it is just count 1 of that type ID, so you can see the info for that type, but no attributes (being a copy or an original is an attribute). Until it's unpackaged it won't have any attributes, so it can't show as being an original.

My first reaction to this post was "Telling BPOs from NPCs? Easy. BPOs can be used to build stuff, NPCs shoot at you."

And if they're in your cargo bay ? I had bpo and bpc of the same item in my carghohold and could not tell the difference without 'show info' on them all. When i sorted the bpo did come first place. Is that the only way to tell ? Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? They arenĘt built for this! Clear Skies - The Movie ROTDK is recruiting

Yes, you have to click 'show info' for them all, or keep em sorted ------

If you have access to a corp hangar somewhere, you can drop them in the hangar, and using the S&I window it's possible to filter out the originals or the copies. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

You can also tell the difference from your personal hangar.
