The two least useful findings for a solo scan ship. Is there something I am not considering? Do the others appear more frequently in low-sec or nullsec? I know Ladar is supposed to only be in low-sec or nullsec. But what about the others? It's quite annoying to have almost every result be another useless wormhole or asteroid field. Thanks for any info :)

…because unlike most other hits, those two won't instantly be cleared out and despawned as soon as they're found. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Competition.
They don't appear more frequently in low/nullsec, it's just that
a) There's less people farming them in low/nullsec and
b) the sites in low/nullsec are much more valuable.

You're in highsec. There are lots of explorers in highsec. You're competing with all of them to find magneto/radar sites. On the other hand if you're a new pilot in a probe frigate finding just one will make your day. Radar sites frequently have invention bits worth 5mil per unit and up. Once you've got a covops cloak, go directly to lowsec and don't look back. ---

Exploration has exploded since Apoc, but a correspondent creating of sites to explore has not. (A lot) More explorers, less sites per explorer.
Train for a covops, get to low or null sec, and try to figure out the logistics from there.

Yus, vacation time and lots more explorers in Hisec. The small section where i practiced last week and had about 4 scan sites per system (not including the 100% stuff) has totally dried up :) Only WH's now mostly and the odd combat site that usually already has two alts in it.

The dev team was smoking some bad stuff one day and drinking as usually and said, what can we do to make our vets angry and make the game more like wow and easy for noobs. I know lets reduce all the skill reqs for exploration and make it so anyone can have and exploration alt within 2 weeks of char creation.
CCP I still want my survey 5 sp refund since it is not needed.
But yes, all the skills needed for exploration went from lvl 5 to lvl 4, and with that time requirement changed, everyone decided to do exploration.
/ is very bitter // Wants sp refunds /// doesnt think the dev team really thought this through.
//// is very bitter.
oh and dont say go to low sec, all the pirates now have scanner alts and will find you just as fast as you probe out sites.
The age of the elite is over, welcome to marxi......... i mean dominion.

So the ~2000 new systems constantly spawning exploration sites doesn't equate to an increase in the number of sites available?
C1 and C2 holes are easily solo'd in a battleship, and some people can even handle them in smaller stuff.

Barring bugs in the respawning mechanics as soon as a site despawn it should spawn again in a system of the same security level and in the same macroregion (an area of the game universe where the NPC are of the same kind of the old site).
The problem seem to be that while the WH have a separate category and respawn as WH, the other sites respawn as any one of the different exploration sites.
So, if the starting distribution of 80 sites is 20 radar, 20 ladar, 20 gravimetric, 20 complex and the explorers despawn the radar, ladar and complex but not the gravimetrics, the respawn will divide the 60 sited despawned between the 4 categories, giving 15 new radar, ladar, gravimetric and complex sites.
So now we have 80 sites but they are 15 radar, 15 ladar, 35 gravimetric, 15 complex.
Do this a few times and you get a lot more gravimetrics sites than any other kind of site.
The despawning after 3 days of the untouched sites help addressing the problem, but it is not enough, so you tend to find a lot more gravimetrics sites than the other kinds.
It is possible the Developers have added a routine checking the exploration sites and rebalancing them but, seeing how EVE work, it would do its work when the server is off line and the situation static, i.e. at DT, so if you are in a "bad" timezone you will have a hard time finding non gravimetric/WH sites.
