why is it so hard to fix my sec status. Im in 0.0 and lowsec killing rat BS's and still below -5 after a few days.
Repairing security status takes so long Im about to give up and go -10 by ganking in highsec. Then theres always the fact, when your doing this and ratting some noob in a juicy ship comes in just asking to die. Plz noobs, stop bringing in expensive ships to lowsec while Im trying to fix my sec..

Force Session changes as often as possible (station docks or gate jumps), It 'resets' the standings ticker, so kill something big and hop over to next system and kill something there. Depending on how quickly you can kill BS's and how high your fast talk skill is will determine how quick your sec status will regain. On standings repair runs, it usualy takes me about 2 hours per .12 sec status when I am ratting with my destroyer (which is relitively safe in zero zero enviro, quick enough to warp away from the big stuff, capable of pushing away or killing anything frig sized).

Your sec rating is only improved by the single highest-value ship in the past 15 minutes (IIRC, if I'm wrong here please correct me with evidence). This means that you would have to spend approx. 3840 minutes (64 hours) to go from -10 to -1.97. This translates to almost 3 days of downtime-to-downtime ratting in 0.0 with no negative sec hits. Basically, it takes 2 weeks of 8-hour days to compensate for a few hours of low-sec pirating. As for being too difficult that's arguable, and I can see both sides on this one...even if I do wish I could rat it up faster. :)

This.
Or hunt pirates and keep sec status up.
There is some anti-pirate corporations too, they're fun in lowsec like pirating.

It's simple really. If sec-status matters for you don't kill pods, n00bships, shuttles/frigs or other low value targets in low-sec. There's a reason there's a difference between the different zones.

That would perhaps seem about right in terms of hours (64). The last time i did it it took me a couple of weeks putting in various small hours a day (its incredibly dull).
To clarify i should have said "256 sec increases gained from a mediocre BS kill" - not simply 256 BS kills.
However your figures over 2 weeks appear to be incorect (correct calculation being 4.5 hours a day for 2 weeks)
You can get more then 4 sec gains an hour however - by simply killing one rat in multiple systems then burning on to the next system (as each system has a seperate timer) - you could (with a loop of safe space) get 12 increases an hour (thats 3 systems x 4 sec gains per hour) with some assistance of an alt to scout the belts in the system ahead. This would take it down to 1.5 hours a day for two weeks (assuming all friendly local and full concentration) - still painfull - but achievable without wanting to shoot yourself.
Better BS kills make a big difference also - so perhaps if you lived in a very good area of space

This is actually incorrect. You get a sec gain for the highest value ship killed in the past 15 min in a given system. This means that you gain be getting the 15 min gains from multiple systems at once.
What I did was find a loop of 4-5 good systems, and killed 1 good battleship in each as I went around the loop. By the time I reached the system i started at, I had received the gain from that system. Thus I was getting sec gains about every 5 minutes. Went from -8 to -2 in a pretty short time.
Also train the social skills (i forget the names), they make some difference. |

no.
Train fast talk to IV and just run a 4-5 system loop of 0.0 systems killing 1 bs per system. Takes about 8-10 hours to go from -10 to -2.

I think it also goes by faction. So you could kill an angel bs and a sansha bs in the same system within a minute of each other and get 2 increases. ofc this is only doable in a mission hub or something.

so in theory you could open an ass load of missions against differing factions in 4 or 5 systems and get many many sec increases in short shrift ? --------------------------------------------

If it's controlled by session changes, then forming a fleet and moving the squad booster about will give you a session change (I think), allowing you to stay in the same anomaly/belt and get a sec status gain every 30 seconds or so?

It's hard because you were bad and committed a crime. Also, it really isn't that bad. I got from -5 to 0 in a week easy just randomly ratting. You're killing BS rats, right? Frigs and cruisers give you jack sec buff. ---------------------- They're angry there was damage done to their ship. |

Just a tip, if you want pvp and no lower sec status, let THEM attack YOU first, and be sure to swear by the grave of your not-yet-dead mother that it was self defence^^
though, when people dont attack you, your busted
just pretend being a nub in a wolf or ishkur, and be sure to name your ship rifter/incursus, some people really fall for that

Oh look, a spineless dude smacking pirates for being -10 in a discussion about increasing sec status.
To some of the guys that posted here, it's not as hard as you might think to gain sec status, your doing it wrong. --- I smack just for myself. Allow faction cap boosters to be traded via normal market ! |

You can gain sec pretty fast if you want but tbh I don't think you should try to alter your sec from what it is. If you enjoy ganking people then low sec is the place for you. I enjoy both pvp and pve and as a result, my sec tends to hover between -8 and -10. I don't pay much attention to it, there really isn't anything in high sec worth while anyways. -----------------------------------------------------

other than moving ships bigger than cruisers through highsec to new areas you want to fight in. this is the most annoying thing to me. (and yes you can do it with an alt, but then you need to train up all crusiers/frig/bs/bc etc skills on that alt, or train up orca etc. it does add hassle) Reward small gang/solo pvp!

Mammoth takes 17k m3 so you'll be able to move BC's aswell. The only think you cant move with a two day old alt is battleships.

Exactly, 2 day old alt = move anything smaller than a BS. And even so, I doubt you are in low sec alone. Any successful low sec corp will have extensive logistical capabilities including freighters, carriers and very likely one or more jump freighters. If you do not have a character capable of using any of these, it's time to send a mail to one of your corp mates who does. -----------------------------------------------------

Or just train one freighter and move several ships at once. :P
