Note: this is not a whine thread.
Synopsis: Wormholes should be easier to separate from k-space combat sites. Give wormhole signatures their own category, along with Radars, Mags, etc.
With the introduction of wormholes in Apocrypha, explorers received a theoretical boost in the form of an additional signature type to search for. Initially, this was fantastic, and many of us made billions doing the new wormhole content. Much rejoicing was heard, and everyone dusted off their scanning ships to get in on the gold rush.
Now let's jump to the present day. The wormholes are still there, and the explorers still find them. However, our scanners are now clogged with 'unknown' signatures, most of which are wormholes. Explorers looking to do the old combat sites must slog through these wormholes, discarding them in order to find the k-space content they desire. This is as it should be, except for one problem. Magnetometric, Ladar, Radar, and Grav sites all show as such before you scan them down further and discover their specific name (i.e. Guristas Shattered Life Support System, etc). Wormholes and Combat sites both show as Unknown, and in order to determine if something is a wormhole you need to spend more time scanning.
Would it be possible to give wormholes their own category, along the lines of Gravs, Mags, Radars, and Ladars? This would enable faster sifting of sites by explorers, and would follow the existing format of signature delineation.
Please discuss as you see fit.

I agree about wormholes having their own signature type, this would make scanning for other sites types easier (we can waste a lot of time scanning only to find out it's a wormhole, or worst, one we already know about). Also, it would be quite useful if wormhole (or other sites) we already scanned down would show up as a 100% hit later on (especially if we leave system and come back to scan again).

if you know your skills and your setup (ship, modules and probes) you can in most cases see if it's a WH you're looking at or not.
It's maths (or in my case Excel)

The operative phrase there is 'in most cases'. For example, if I get to 4AU on my probes and it shows as 'Unknown', it's 90% of the time a wormhole. 2AU and showing as 'Unknown' usually means plex or wormhole, but even then we still have the problem of differentiating wormholes from combat sites.
Oh, and bump.

The single biggest annoyance when exploring in normal space .. seems that half the bloody sites are wormholes.
Could definitely get behind an effort to introduce a filter for the damn things!
