Just like the 650au safe cyno did in Y8? You guys tried that before and it dint help. CCP must have changed something and im glad this thread is not one big whine about lag. Nice fight Tri & co, props for bringing it NC.
Just disappointed the NC decided to go play with you instead of trying to kill our towers. mebbe next time

No, CCP didn't change anything.
If you haven't figured out the difference, one case the FC tried to jam 700+ ships at once into one grid. Another case FC used multiple cynos on multiple grids to spread out the amount of ships entering a grid at once, using deep safes to ensure that the reds could not jam the grid full of ships before they were thru as warp to the cyno would take longer than it takes to bridge people in and leave the cyno grid.
So, deep safe alone does not do anything.
Limiting the number of ships on the grid where you try to enter (cyno grid, gate grid) is the key.

Wasnt sure if that was the plan the first time you tried it, because I swear I remeber seeing more than one cyno at the deep safe in Y8, just wasnt sure if they were on the same grid. Everyone should take note that this may be the preferred way to enter system from now on..

Yup, was a another good fight. Server lag was really minimal, and it was a really good fight (or series of fights)
Station placed into 2nd reinforcement timer and comes out very early Sunday morning. Also the hub comes out of it's 2nd reinforced in the early hours of tomorrow (Friday)
Hopefully more good fights to be had.
(I'm liking the dominion sov system more and more!)

EDIT: more BF2 EDIT2: I swear my brutix was bombed by two separate waves of GF bombers, I warped out at 44% structure at one point, and I was repped back to 100% between runs. Of course last night, CCP said I was flying an unfit domi, so... EDIT5: I've been drinking...

Edited by: Red Thunder on 07/01/2010 11:20:20 thanks for bringing the fight guys :) lag was bad at the start but it smoothed out nicely pretty fast :D
also, kutos to the goon bombers, that was some nicely executed bombing going on, if wed been in anything other than rr bs you would have killed quite a few
/edit one thing tho ccp....whenever we killed hics with bubbles up their bubbles kept staying there for the rest of the fight, this was incredibly annoying having to constantly burn out of invincible 30km bubbles while getting bombed :D

Edited by: Ammath on 07/01/2010 15:08:47 Edited by: Ammath on 07/01/2010 15:07:35 Someone had asked me to put some stats up. These are from TRI's killboard which is usually pretty complete.
* one note on fleet size. Most pilots re-shipped on the TRI Coalition side and got back in the battle in both instances as the fights lasted for hours.
Wednesday 0400 battle - TRI Coalition Held Field Fleet: TRI Coalition 574 ships, NC 390 (inc 14 titans) Losses: TRI Coalition Losses: 73 NC Losses: 407
Thursday 0400 battle - TRI Coalition Held Field Fleet: TRI Coalition 462 ships, NC 272 Losses: TRI Coaltion Losses: 58 NC Losses: 183
My thoughts: I love removing AOE Doomsday, it has brought back in-your-face ship to ship combat and has allowed the skill, and planning of the FCs and pilots to shine once again in EvE. No longer can alliances hide behind their 20+ titans and just chain doomsday fleets. They have to put together a proper fleet, a battle plan, and execute on it to win a fight. THIS is why I LOVE EvE.
Added to the mix the bombers, they keep fights from getting bogged down, and people complacent. Its a good thing for the game, and again you need SKILL and tactics to pull it off properly and not just flail around being useless, its not an "i win" button at all.
If CCP can resolve whatever lag problem has crept in since the success of Stackless IO this will be total win.
Thanks to everyone for bringing the fight.
