Here is my suggestions for "hulkageddon" this upcoming week (and the path I will be taking). Every miner in New Eden should dock their exhumers and barges and remove all sell orders through January 14th. This will only work if every miner participates. If you want to support this, post this thread so that everyone knows before January 7th.

Too bad 95% of the minerals come from refined level 4 mission loot.

Edited by: Cyras DeValera on 06/01/2010 17:10:49 I believe this is along the lines of exactly what the want. Pretty funny, imo. As someone known to wield a mining laser while on the treadmill, I can promise you I'll still be in the belts w/ my Rokh killing dirt and making fun of LadyVeldspara.

Hardly so. Players get prizes for whoever ganked the most hulks over Hulkageddon. If we withdraw completly, they can't get the points. And the massive deficit in ore should raise market prices and hit those gankers hard. If after Hulkageddon, rather than flooding the market again, we slowly begin to supply ore again, we can keep the prices higher. And, even more so, we can show EVE the power of the miner.

I think there may be some flaws in the logic here.
First off, hulks have already been destroyed as part of the event, so if there were no more hulks, there are already winners.
The assumption that ore prices will change is also iffy. You make assumptions that the same organizations that could supply the prizes for the event didn't put in enough thought to stockpile ore and release those quantities to keep the price down or to control the market during the event.
Lastly, there seems to be an assumption that everyone playing will see the forums and aggree. With out that, there will be plenty of miners who don't and caught unaware. For something like this to work, a protest should have been started long ago.

well many of my corp mates are not selling anything, we are just using this time to upgrade our equipment and what not. i am personally using the ore i mine to build myself a hulk and more mining crystals.
just use all your income to make yourself better, or just build mining equipment.
and to the guy that says all the resources comes from lvl 4 mish. you are being silly, i dont care how much stuff you reprocess i mine far more regularly myself every day then you could possibly reprocess. i fill station can every two log in and that comes down to a sation can every two days. i dont know how much you are getting but i cant see you beating that consistently. and if it was true there would never be a market for miners, but there are many of us and we still make more then enough cash to keep us killing dirt

There are to many miners in the game of Eve. 300 + kills of hulks means nothing, especially seeing they are bragging about it in the forum. Your suggestion is a good one and excellent strategy to take some of their thunder away and see them whine about it on the forums.
I will do my part to spread the word and lets have some laughs and ganker tears..

I got s better idea. Every last miner in eve should stop mining for a year straight so as to give these people ample time to be placed back in to their rookie ships. Even the miners that are in the corperations that are participating in this event. We miners need to unite and form a miners union. Top on the list a better treatment, better pay, safer working environment, and medical / dental benifits. Eve after all is supposed to mimic the real world on a futureistic setting.

LOL.. By boycotting and pulling your market orders you're playing into the cause. Half the point of Hulkageddon is to force market shortages and affect price jumps. By pulling your market orders you're doing just that: forcing market prices upward.
this is moronic

Edited by: ProfessorLonghair on 10/01/2010 14:54:20 They may be looking for a bump in hulk prices. I doubt that they would like to see the price of every mineral-related turrent, booster, and ship go up, since they are much more combat-oriented than us. The prices of hulks would still bump yes, but, had (I speak in the past tense, as it is too late to organize an effective protest) we followed this course of action, would any of us had needed more hulks? The effect wouldn't change for miners. It would be geared more toward making hulkageddon hurt for the participants, too.
Mr.Cleann, I agree. Miners are the basis of EVE. If every miner really did commit to a miner union 100%, we could take the power of EVE. What saddens me is that many miners are alts, and they have combat-related mains that would very much like to see lower ore prices, lower ship prices, etc. By all means, we could form a miners union, but we would run into the issues of first, how to communicate (effectivly) within ourselves without forcing players to leave their corps (this would include somehow translating for other miners), and second, how to convince every miner to join and participate. That is not to say they are impossible to overcome. I would love to see something like a miner's union implemented.
EDIT: Terrible typo.

ok first off if you think ccp is gonna do anything to help out the miners think again they dont give a crap about any of us or they would have done something about hulkageddon before it kicked off, second i love the idea of a miners union but lets face it who here would spend there time running such a place, hell do we even have a representative on the steller council or whatever they call themselfs nowadays.
i for one am stayin docked up for a week not gonna give these idiots an easy kill, and tbh most of these guys probably have mining alts in 0.0 mining for themselfs to get the t1 throw away ships there using for ganking so to ask every miner in the game to not sell anything is like asking for a winning lottery ticket, just stay safe and dont let them get easy kills, hurt them by not giving them kills.

me and others have been hitting up hidden belts, i personally have a great haul in ore just sitting there, i should have enough to make an extra hulk soon as well. might have the leave to get some vedspar though as hidden belts rarely have it.
there are plently of ways to get around hulkageddon, just play smart and hold your sell orders for a month. if they want it tey can pay extra for it.
and starting a miners union will never happen, i wouldn't be a part of it for one and i am a dedicated miner with no alts, there is no need for such an organisation and in the end it would just be as corrupted and get twisted out of shape like everything else just make mining equipment and let them ***** about how their BSs are twice the price they are now.

it is a good idea, but sadly its also what the possie wants. They are only griefers an all those types want is recognition as "bad man".... the best you can do si ignore them an just lagh at their antics as the childish pastime that it is. They want to be able to brag on forums an say "we tell people how to play Eve" an "we say what goes" etc etc.... its just ego.
If you could arrange this, I'd say go for it but sadly I think it's playing into their hands.
Either way I'd definatly support it.

Sweet tears are sweet. Keep 'em coming, carebears :)
I just hope I have enough bottles to store them all.
Because, you know, making no ISK is going to replace that exhumer you're weeping silently about losing as you afk-mined during Hulkageddon.....
That's what losing a hulk during Hulkageddon is all about, after all. It's all about YOU not paying attention as you mine. Anybody paying attention would have aligned as soon as local jumped by 6................But I digress. Please, continue crying where you left off.
Maybe next year, you can keep track of how many ridiculously cheap-to-produce Catalysys you sold at a 100% markup for a week straight (which were immediately used to gank your corpmates, of course), and hold some awards and prizes amongst yourselves...

nice idea but would tbh never work - mainly because the hulkageddon is targeted at only the high sec miners not at the 0.0 ones :) Also because bounties are broken.. And so is insurance... and a lot of the market stuff in eve does come from mission runners - few people actually buy base t1 goods (cept ofc ships and ammo) you may also be very surprised at how much loot can be reprocessed for.. i did however remember reading a post about player police like a fw type thing which could have made things a little more interesting.

Edited by: ProfessorLonghair on 13/01/2010 02:32:15 Daeda, interesting point. "Crying about your afk-hulks". Hulkageddon is not about any purges agaist AFK miners. That is their justification. ****** justified his war with lies as you do now. There are very few afk miners. I jet-can mine; "jumping out" when local increases leaves all my ore. The people ganking hulks in hulkageddon can say that we can avoid it all they want; the only fool-proof way to avoid it is to stay docked. A determined ganker can hunt down any ship flying in space. The gankers are just spewing this sh*t to justify it. All they want to do is say that they control the game. And they don't. No one industry dominates the game. Working together is the only way the game works, and now people want to mess with it. They want more power. "The most abundant materials in EVE are greed and lust for power."
Interesting. THe first word censored is H*tler. Odd that the forums would censor that.

FYI, the real reason for Hulkageddon is to remind all you whiny little carebear biznitches that nowhere is safe. Welcome to the sandbox.
For what it's worth, threads like this one are the biggest rewards you can give the people who are griefing you. So, by all means:
