Edited by: Krxon Blade on 07/01/2010 11:48:47 04th Jan 2010 I tried to change my Credit Card details in order to CC details with new ones because old one expired on 12 2009. I had 22 days of subscription left.
1st time I've entered new CC details, I also changed payment interval from 1 month into 3 months in order to save some $$. As result I got error message with red letters. Than I tried to enter new CC info again and I got same error message. In 3rd attempt I've set payment interval in 1 month - always same error, but different error code.
Than I sent you a mail about this. I didn't received auto response from your system. I've used my account mail as sender.
05th Jan 2010 I went in my subscription details to check if something is resolved and I saw this as my payment history:
- 1/4/2010 14.95 USD New Recurring Payment for 1 Month EVE Subscription Paid Authorized with confirmation code: XXXX - 1/4/2010 38.85 USD New Recurring Payment for 3 Month EVE Subscription Paid Authorized with confirmation code: XXXX - 1/4/2010 38.85 USD New Recurring Payment for 3 Month EVE Subscription Paid Authorized with confirmation code: XXXX - 2/28/2009 14.95 USD Recurring Payment for 1 Month EVE Subscription Paid Authorized with confirmation code: XXXX
Which means that my CC WAS charged even I got error displayed. I just checked my CC netBanking account and yes, there was three payment in a row:
04.01.2010 12:54:41 xxx_MY_NEW_CC_NUMBER_xxx EVE ONLINE GLOBALCOLLECT USD 14,95 04.01.2010 12:49:55 xxx_MY_NEW_CC_NUMBER_xxx EVE ONLINE GLOBALCOLLECT USD 38,85 04.01.2010 12:49:11 xxx_MY_NEW_CC_NUMBER_xxx EVE ONLINE GLOBALCOLLECT USD 38,85
I also filed petition, but still without generic "We're processing it" message. Petition holder is Krxon Blade
Can someone reply to this?

I know, but because no one answers my petition, I do hope that moderator will notify someone in charge. -- Eve battle simulator EVE character creator Eve offline game |

If you are having problems with your subscription, please file a petition under the Billing category.

Posting about it on the forums won't get anything done. You need to use the petition system either in-game, or via the website.
No one from CCP will go into any details involving account and payment details on the forums, and no player can do anything regarding the problem.

Looks like you've got 7 months... personally if you were going to screw up I think you should of screwed up on the 6 month deal for a better save.

If you didn't authorise the charge then file a dispute with the card provider.

I already filled petition, like I said before.
One of reasons for posting this here was also warning to other players. In case of error during updating CC details, there is chance that CC will be charged, despite displayed processing error message.
If subscribers CC is near withdrawal limit, this could cause unwanted minuses on their accounts.
Personally, I don't need refund. Instead, I would like to have extended subscription time which would equal to savings I would normally have if I chose 7 months as payment interval. -- Eve battle simulator EVE character creator Eve offline game |

This happened to me too... I filed a petition, and CCP got back fairly quickly and reversed two of the transactions. The error message is annoying though since the transaction goes through anyway.

While this is a good option if CCP refuses to refund, it will get every account connected to that card banned. The CC company might not look very kindly on you not giving the company the opportunity to rectify the situation either. Chargebacks are serious business.

Absolutely. I'm not minimizing that. However, chargebacks are an accusation of fraud, impact company credit ratings, and can lead to increased credit card fees or the loss of the ability to process CC's entirely. System error is not fraud, and your CC company will note if you make unnecessary chargeback claims, which can affect your ability to make 'legitimate' ones in the future.
On the other hand, it doesn't sound like CCP prioritizes billing inquiries, which is absolutely the wrong answer. Something like this should be resolved within 24 hours.

It's nothing to do with fraud, as that implies intent.
You did not give CCP the authority to bill the card in that manner yet they have. Interest on credit cards is calculated on you DAILY balance, so whilst those transactions are on your card you are paying interest on them.
In other words, CCP's mistake (be it a system error or whatever) is costing you money.
Call your credit card company and open a dispute. You are not accusing CCP of fraud, merely stating that you did not authorise the charges and that they should not count against your balance whilst they are in dispute.
There are clearly defined processes in place when things like that happen on credit cards, and your company will write to the merchant and ask them about the transaction in question. Chances are that CCP's billing department will have resolved the system error by then anyway, but why should you pay interest on charges you did not make or authorise?

Exactly that. Due for being EVE subscriber for the last four years, I'm not jumping on them. Otherwise I would already start cancellation of extra 2 charges trough my bank. -- Eve battle simulator EVE character creator Eve offline game |
