I've been trying to find out some statistics about reverse engineering chances, but so far I've only found some guesses. As I understand CCP has not published any official base success rates.
What kind of success rates are you getting for wrecked, malfunctioning and intact relics? (Some guesses so far have been, wrecked 20%, malfunctioning 50-66% and for intact I didn't find any).
Some of the skill prerequisites are IV some I, CCP has stated that learning skills higher level raises the chance of success, but how much? Please be so kind to mention your relevant skills for the RE in question. |

There is a formula here Linkage
Reverse_Chance = Base_Chance * (1 + (0.01 * Reverse_Engineering_Skill_Level)) * (1 + (0.1 * (Datacore_1_Skill_Level + Datacore_2_Skill_Level)))
I don't have statistics to back the validity of the formula but it does seem to be right.
Base chance supposedly is 20% for wrecked, 30% for malfunctioning and 40% for intact.
I think the datacore skill levels used are the ones matching the actual datacores consumed. Not to be confused with the skill requirements needed for the job.
The right way to calculate it if you are not heavily into formulas: A. add your 2 datacore skill levels together, divide by 10 add 1 B. divide your skill level in reverse engineering with 100 add 1
Result is base chance multiplied by step A multiplied by step B.
On a wrecked relic with datacore skills at 4 and reverse engineering at 4 that will give: 0.2 x 1.8 x 1.04 = 0.3744 or 37.44% success chance.

Maybe I should have said so in my original post, Im not 100% certain of the formula or the base values myself. They have changed at least once and I have made wrong assumptions myself in past.
Although I got these values of chruker's site as well, and most of his data are from the datadumps published by CCP. It is still no guarantee though.
So common sense and a critical approach is always needed. :)

from my expierience the numbers for wrecked are way too low. If i use my success rates and current jita prices for relics and the other stuff the cost per blueprint run using wrecked relics is the lowest, closely followed by malfunctioning ones. Even at 100% success rate the intact relics couldnt keep up due to their high costs (getting out wrecked relics of failed jobs with intact relics is not included, but that shouldnt make a difference in my statement).
howevers this is only true for hulls and all skills perfect.
p.s. dont ask for any numbers, i wont give em out.

Do not forget the BPC Runs are different based on which relic type.
Run counts are:
Wrecked = 3 Malfunctioning: 10 Intact: 20
