I play eve on Multiple computers. Is there a way to transfer/copy the Data file that holds the station setup, buddies list/folders etc.. to another computer. I know its not held on the server because its different on each computer.

If you're using windows XP, you can copy over the settings folder found in the local settings:
C:\Documents and Settings\LOGIN NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE
You will find a folder with the path to your eve install as the name. Copy that over and you should have your settings on the other machine. ------------------------------------------------ You either need a punch up the throat or a good shag.
Nobody round here is offering the second one therefore your choices are limited! |

You are talking about the cache / settings folders. Where they are located can be found in this cache clearing wiki article, but I would advice finding the specific files you need and not copy over the entire directories. Things like resolution settings and cache folders are best to be left alone if at all posible. I have no experience doing it, but I guess copying over the entire settings directory with the exception of pc.dat and prefs.ini should copy over your personal settings while leaving stuff like resolution untouched. Make sure both clients are on the same version before you copy over settings though. _

Not sure about other files, but I know your overview setup is saved in the 'core_user_xxxxxxx.dat' file. By that I mean your window placements, colour schemes...not sure how much else is saved in there to be honest, but I use one for my main, then copy that file across to my alt account directories, so that all my setups are uniform.
The xxxxx in the file name is your API number, so if your API number is (using letters for example) ABCDEFG your filename will be core_user_ABCDEFG.dat. If you want to use these settings for an alt account, copy the file to your alt account's settings directory and rename it to match the API number for the alt character (for example core_user_HIJKLMN.dat)

Thank you, I got mostly what I needed. It was all very helpful and I now have all my computers set up the same. What I really want is my buddies list. In my Primary Account I have a 100+, is there any way to copy that list? Thanks again. M.R.

I am pretty sure your buddy list is server side as I recently installed Eve on a brand new machine and the buddy list followed the account. ... |
