Now i am an alt of a main account because i will get flamed.
All i seem to find across all high sec systems these days are unstable wormholes. SOmetimes there are up to 4 in a single system.
Am i doing something wrong here?

Hi sec systems are heavily traveled- its to be expected that a lot of other ppl have found and gone through hi sec wormholes that you latter found.
Unstable doesnt mean theyre crap- what exactly is the problem again?

you obviously do something wrong
I find at least 5 DED 4/10 ( Guristas Scout Outpost or/and Mul-Zatah Monastery) every evening in hi sec, and few in low sec by the way of searching for 6/10.
may be you just unlucky and have to look into different regions.
fish where the fish is.

Find the systems that nobody would have any reason to go to (crap agents, no stations, few belts, etc.) and here you will find the sites. And lots of wormholes too, because they're everywhere.

And the fish is where no (or less) fishermen are. If you are searching the obvious and well-traveled systems you're relying on the chance that a complex spawned in that system after the last guy probed it out - chances are slim on that one. If you leave the beaten track you have a much better chance. Where that is changes very often though.
Low sec and isolated high sec systems are best to find complexes, but getting your ship there intact is a task of its own.

Interestingly enough, all of the "fishing" metaphors are quite accurate. Im a fairly good fisherman and I can recall a lesson taught to me longgg ago. "The ugliest body of water can have THE BEST fishing within it". Well, why is that? Its because every other fisherman out there looks at that spot and says "I'll go somewhere else". So, they go and get their line wet in the exact same spot that just 5 minutes ago, another fisherman was fishing. A 5 minutes prior to that was yet another fisherman. Etc.. But, to THAT fisherman that stands there now, to him, looks like a prime spot and he never saw the other 30+ guys that were their earlier.
But, that ugly spot thats just right out of the cove of the marina, the same spot that others passed by, that one spot yields the largest fish of the day.
Another quick story to drive home my point...(and yeah, its another "fishing" story, heh)
Drove for 5 hours to get to a popular lake. Rented me a boat and went out on the lake with a tiny little tackle box and 2 fishing rods. Went around the point and down a long narrow cove. Found a nice little quite spot that was just a tad bit difficult to get to, but did it anyways. Tied on a lure called a Scumfrog and cast it out right ontop of some hydrilla (water plant). I mean this spot sucked to fish at with any other type of lure other than a 100% weedless. Weeds were so thick, when the lure landed, there wasnt even a splash.
But...
After I let it sit there a bit and then gave it a few tugs towards the edge....BAMMM!!! 6 1/2 pound Largemouth Bass slammed it. Scared the living shiat outta me too. heh. It was like a small explosive had gone off.
It was ON...All day long, I caught Bass. Not just little scrawny ones either, probably smallest one I caught was maybe 4lbs.
Later that day, it was time to return the boat and go on home. As I was at the boat rental place, there was already a guy in there who was friends with the owner of the rental store. Turns out, there had been a tournament on the lake that very day while I was there. The store owners friend had paid several hundred dollars to enter, but didnt catch a single fish all day long.
The owner of the store asked me how my day went so I started to tell him. He starts laughing and gets his friends attention to listen in. The guy couldnt believe it. He, along with most everyone else in the tournament was fishing off of underwater points and ridges at about 20' of water. I told them AND SHOWED them pictures of the fish I had caught and told them I was in water no deeper than maybe 2 foot and completely full of weeds. I could tell the guy was starting to get upset cause his face started to turn red. All the while, the store owner was still laughing, heh.
Moral of the story as it relates to EVE is that I took a different route than that of others..."MANY" others for that matter. It took a bit of effort to find my spot, but I found it. Yeah, it was risky. I could have gotten stuck and had to get out and swim back to shore, but its because of these things that made it such a good spot.
I have done the same in EVE.
Where is everyone else? Hmmmm. So I look in the map overview, select the option which tells me what systems are the heaviest traveled and I started to look where the dimmest star systems were. It didnt take long before I found one and low and behold, its a mere 9 jumps away. Pffftt. Its a nice little pocket of high-sec which is completely surrounded by low and null sec. I saw ONE other person go thru this system while I was online during the week Ive been there. Other than that, Ive been ALONE. Alone in a HIGH SEC SYSTEM. One of these systems had 8 plexes in it, not to mention the Radar, Gravs, Mags and Ladar sites. All mine A 10th of all I earn I keep for myself. |
