Here's the scenario, I'm involved in a lot of high sec/empire wars. You know the drill, station hugging, gate camping, ganks, etc...
I'm planning on getting myself a slave implant set and have a hard time deciding which ships I wanna try it out with first.
So, if you had/have slave implants and are involved in high sec/empire wars, what ship(s) would you use to get most out of your implants? Heavy armor tanked battleships are an obvious one, what else?

T3 cruisers can get some ridiculous buffers with slaves, but basically it comes down to if you want to fit more damage mods while still having enough buffer or if you want to fit a ridiculous 250k+ buffer. Depends on the situation

Let's go for buffers. The DPS isn't usually lacking.

Armageddons, megathrons, bhaalgorns are the ships I think benefit most from slave sets personally..
They can get a huge buffer tank and at the same time a ridiculous amount of dps...

Drop the armor rep for a energized regenerative plating. 350 dps tank wonŠt help you..

Yeah it will. Hybrid plate/rep setups work because the rep gets a whole lot more high-resist buffer to work with. 15% more armor hp isn't as important as having a repper running while you're being shot at.

Slaved/Trimarked/Mindlink Damnation supported harb (or cane) is pretty sweet. It's got 117-136k EHP, depending on fit. BCs are my favorite ships to fly for general use, because they get fights where BSes do not, and with slaves and damnation they are superior in most respects to the average unslaved/undamnationed BS you'll be fighting. |

this. if you have a big enough buffer, and not a ton of incomming dps, youll get alot of milage out of a single rep huge buffer. i probobly wouldnt use faction, but thats me. because of the faction though, it makes it all the more viable if you ignore the price tag.
active tanks dont HAVE to have dual reps to be effective. plus, the dual reps are very very vulnerable to neuts. neuts are very common now. being neuted sucks.
to the op, me and mates fly some nice armor buffers right now. legion, fleet phoon, megas, domis, abaddons. if its for highsec wars, and your not a moron, your pod shouldnt be caught.

This.
If you rep more than 15% of the incoming DPS, then the rep is worthwhile, along with making you pretty much immune to smaller ships, and saving you a fair bit of money in the long run (as you can rep up between fights).

this tbh..
if looking at damnation boosted 530dps tank that quite big tank..it can negate a whole cruiser and a half of dps..maybe even good fitted BC.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: "For me EvE wasn't that much fun, many ppl refer to it as a nicely designed database front-end and that |

Regenerative platings add 15% armor hp. It's not entirely correct, as one's a negative and the other's positive(same as + damage or - duration of guns) it should be closer to 13% but...
Still, it holds only a fraction of the truth, as you'd be using another EANM rather than a regenerative membrane, which helps your RR and such out. On the other hand if it's a long fight with reinforcements but low dps at any given time, a rep will help out heaps. It'll all come down to what kind of engagement it is, which you can generally determine somewhat in advance. Parrots, commence!

How about something like this?

True Sansha Warp Scrambler Domination 1MN Afterburner
125mm Gatling AutoCannon II, Domination EMP S 125mm Gatling AutoCannon II, Domination EMP S 125mm Gatling AutoCannon II, Domination EMP S [empty high slot]

...What? Full set of slaves and a ZET5000 in the 10th slot, it gets 25.8k EHP!

Like some advise on this subject myself. Got my first set of LG slaves not too long ago but not really got a great ship for them yet. Will be having a go at scouted low sec work. Thinking bout a mixed tank Hype. Or would I be better with a buffered Phoon/Mega?

Slaved harbi is nice too, generally all ships that usually fit plate greatly benefit from slave implants /armor hardwirings.

So what type of fights are long with low dps, where you don't have any RR support?
Maybe the rep is for gateguns? I.e. lowsec pirates camping gates?

The hybrid setups work best for smaller fights.
Big fights with lots of ships with focused fire, kill their primary faster which wont give the rep enough time to 'work its magic' and in those situations an extra plate is better.
Considering you wont know what type of fight you will have till its over, people will generally go for the full plate setup because they are lazy or their fights tend to be very random from solo to large fleet.
