Hey, aside from the reflip and warp home (which is what I did the one time I got canflipped), the rest is all in the wonderful halada's mining guide. Never tried it myself :p

In my retriever, that means one flight every cycle. 2k m3 of cargo and about 1700m3 per cycle. Before giving advice, I'd try mining first.
2km3? My Retriever has 4944m3 of cargo space (which is why I don't use a container, it's pointless for me). I run 3 cycles which fills the hold, and unless I'm in a mining op where it's time to feed it to the hauler, I fly back to station and drop it off.
Based upon the fact that I got my Retriever holding more than twice what yours does, I believe you could do the same, and not bother with the cans anymore.

Use a Secure can. It would be like leaving a Unsecured case (full Of expensive gold) 20meters from u that means some one can steal from it and run. leave a Locked and secure case its going knowhere if its that heavy a theif can't pick it up. --------------------------------

Okay, noob question on that statement.
My Giant Secure Container says that I cannot anchor it in 0.8, 0.9 or 1.0 space. Is it still secure in those systems...???

My barge holds 2,000m^3, with all my upgrades, each of my Strip Miner II's pulls in ~1,090.0m^2 for a total of ~2,180.0m^3 in about 3 minutes.
I fill up a jetcan in just over 30 minutes.

You see, the whole point in this is a cost-effective way to avoid canflippers. Cost-effective is the key. Anything that costs more than what I lose with a flip is not cost effective.

The answer is no, they have to be anchored.

Jetcans were never intended to be used for mining. So don't use them. Use giant secure containers instead.
Coincidentally, stealing from jetcans also used to yield no aggression timer so you weren't even allowed to shoot at them. This made more sense, TBH, as jetcans are essentially abandoned goods.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle! ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |

This is idiotic. I've semi-afk jetcan mined in a .5 system with 4-10 pilots in it on average for the last 2 months with NO trouble. My hulk drops a full can in < 15 min, warp to station, switch to iteron adn bring in the ore.
Why have I had no trouble? I'm not mining within 2 jumps of high traffic.
The *worst* thing that can happen is I lose 15-30 min of time if a flipper happens to bother coming all the way out to my mining location, but the odds of that are much lower because the systems are low-percentage for flippers who (generally) are lazy and/or opportunistic (e.g. trolling high-population systems)

Those are common misconceptions amongst can flippers... The time to reward ratio for high sec mining is ridiculously low. Either of those things reduce it to something so low that you'd have a hard time telling whether you're making more money by mining or by sitting in a station waiting to die.
The real solution, IMO, it just to deal with losing some ore from time to time to can flippers. Most often they don't even take the ore, they just try to instigate you into attacking them so they can pwn you and when you don't, they leave and leave the ore behind. It's a far smaller loss that the loss of time you experience by wasting all your time flying around and GSCs aren't big enough. An Orca or even just keeping an industrial there to pick up the ore whenever a can flipper comes by solves it of course, but if you're solo and only have one account, you just need to accept having your cans flipped from time to time. And, yeah, Taurinthia is right, find a more remote system and you won't encounter many can flippers.
