Hello there
My main is currently residing in the area of 0.0 that has Sansha rats, and I've found that grinding sanctums is a excellent source of income. I am looking to upgrade my ship to a better one to speed up my clearing rate, and I'm looking for some input as to which way to go. My pilot started out as Gallente and cross trained Amarr a while back, I'm in the process of finishing up the skills to use large tech 2 energy weapons, and my armor tanking skills and cap skills are top notch.
So my choices, as I see them, are: 1. Paladin (great ship, awesome dps, but long training time since I don't have Amarr BS to V yet, also expensive)
2. Legion (Prices have dropped considerably for the ship itself lately, but I don't know how well it stacks up against BS when grinding isk, and the fitting would probably be expensive as well? I don't know, is it ever advisable to fly a legion with just tech 2 fittings?)
3. Nightmare (This is the one I'm leaning towards at the moment, seems to be a marauders abilities with BS skills, the only problem is that I cannot shield tank worth crap yet, so I'd have to train for that, but on the other hand even with only tech 2 fittings this ship can do amazingly well dps wise)
So what do you guys think? I would love to fly any of these ships but they all require slightly different skills and approaches, so please let me know what you think.

Edited by: thorax spartan on 19/01/2010 11:04:31 ok this wasnt on yr list of ships but its what i would use for lvl4's Vs sansha n bloods and what i would use for 0.0 anom's killing sansha rats
apoc highs 8 x mega plulse t2(scorch) mids 4 x cap recharger t2 lows 3 x heatsink t2 1 x eanm t2 1 x therm hardner t2 1 x em hardner t2 1 x lar t2
rigs 3 x ccc drones 5 x hammerheads t2 and 5 x hobgoblins t2 keep navy multi's for the close range stuff has a op range of 61km with 10km falloff rof 4.3 sec with a dmg of 574/2486
pwns teh sansha rats and its insurable i can fly both the paladin and nightmare and would prob upgrade if isk allowed and i felt flash 0.0 sansha anoms is bout the only thing that would tempt me bak to 0.0 so count ya self lucky
hope this helps
fly safe

Edited by: Colran on 19/01/2010 11:15:54 Yea I've used the apoc extensively in high sec missions, and I love it. I'm just looking to make an upgrade since even a tech 2 fitted nightmare will do about 300 more dps than that apoc fit will, but I'll use that until I make enough isk to purchase something more expensive.
------------edit-------------- I forgot to add that I'm not particularly worried about the security aspect of my space, up to this point I've never been jumped in a anom, and thats a risk I'm willing to take to ease the tedius nature of grinding isk.

Thanks for the fit, looks good, but what I'm actually looking for is opinions as to which of those 3 ships i mentioned is the better choice. I could be in any of them in a relatively similar training times with the exception of the paladin having the longest one by far due to amarr BS to V. Anywhoo, if anyone has an opinion and a reason for the opinion as to the relative good/bad sides to those ships, I'd love to hear them.

If you want to choose 1 of the 3 above i'd say go nightmare if you dont want to train bs v for that or go paladin if you want to loot and salvage while killing. Efficiency wise, paladin would be the best, legion doesnt do good enough dps but its the easiest to escape in case youre being hunt.

I'm assuming from your ship choices, you aren't in an area of null-sec where losing your super expensive ship is likely? If so, I'd recommend the Nightmare. The Paladin can push as much damage as the Nightmare can, and costs about the same, but the Nightmare is easier to get into, and often better in practice because of it's bonuses. The Legion will cost you about half as much for the ship, but won't do nearly the damage either. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

I suppose it depends on how much ISK you have and how much your willing to spend. I just learned to properly fly a Golem, and I must say, it's freaking amazing!!
I suggest you fly a Marauder. Insane DPS, good tank, ability to salvage while doing insane damage....
