I now have RR capability and want to use it to repair my mining security drones. On the Retriever's screen I can see the drone(s) that need to be repaired, but not on the support ship's. I've been using trial and error so far to find the right drone, but that is kind of tedious with four constantly moving drones.
Is there a better way to select the correct drone for RR? If not, is there any way to bring new drones up in the hauler and get them into the Retriever's Drone Bay?

On the retriever, expand the group of drones so you can see the individual ones.
Right-click each full health drone and return to drone bay.
Repair the remaining, hurt drones.
Return to drone bay each drone that's been repaired as soon as it's full health.

In your drone control window, expand so you can see each drone, with the damage indicators showing.
Right-click and target your drone from the drone control window. If you only target the damaged drone(s) you know which ones to repair. Deselect them as a target as soon as they're fixed.
You COULD tag them, but it's a lot of work and I tend to pull my drones in if they're getting aggro, so it would lose it's tag. ______________________ Agony Unleashed Home of the PvP University. |

You have two situations:
1) Repairing your own drones 2) Repairing someone elses drones
So what you are doing is going to depend on which of these you are attempting.
As with most things ... there's more than one way you can do it, with advantages and disadvantages depending on your situation. I can't think of all the different ways one might want to use the things you can do but these are some more ideas you can apply as you think best.
1) If you bring out a drone(s) with the RR ship in it's own drone bay - one ship can launch a drone and then abandon it - which will let the other ship Scoop it up. Then the RR ship could relaunch the drone and fix it as it's own drone while the Retriever make the RR Ships drone it's own. This would allow the Retriever to keep all it's drones out and only lose the use of one of them for as long as it took to scoop up the RR ships drone and relauch it. This would also allow the RR ship to ferry reinforcements or replacements out to the other ship if you wanted to replace lost drones or replace one kind of drone with another.
2) You can also assign drones to "Assit" another ship. If you do that - they will go orbit that ship - which, if that ship were the RR ship - would allow the RR to tell which drone needed repair - as it would be the one that came out and orbited it. After it fixed the drone it could be recalled by it's parent ship. Assist can also be used to "ferry" the drone to the other ship. Tell it to Assist the ship you are going to give it to - then abandon the drone when it gets there. The ship recieving the drone then scoops it to it's drone bay and doesn't have to do an Approach to go get the thing. (The "Guard" function does not cause the drone assigned to orbit the ship it is guarding).
3) As mentioned you can "tag" tracks
4) You want to have both a Remote Armor Repairer and a Remote Hull Repairer on your RR ship - these of course require separate skills.
5) You could also use repair drones to extend your range.
6) You may want a Cap Battery or Cap Booster on the RR ship ... depending on how much repairing it does and how big it's cap is in the first place.

Note that drones can repair other drones. You don't have to use RR unless there is structure damage.
