Let's work this out, shall we ?
60d ETC = $34.99
30d worth of ETC = $17.495
1d worth of ETC = ú0.583166666
1/4d worth of ETC = $0.14579166666
So quite frankly you're moaning about 14 cents ?
Get a life. If this was Blizzard, they'd charge you $25.00+shipping for expansions. ..:: MD ::..

UTC is the same as GMT (during winter time). UTC is one hour behind GMT (during summer time).
*cough* *cough* UTC = GMT all the time (well give or take a fraction of a second) :)

Might I suggest if you are going to zing somebody based on their lack of knowledge that you bullet proof your post first and check your facts...
The UK changes to British Summer Time in the summer (duh) but UTC/GMT remain constant without any "daylight saving time" adjustment.
From Wikipedia
Quote: In casual use, when fractions of a second are not important, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) can be considered equivalent to UTC or UT1.

You think its the money which bothers me? No its not at all. Its the fact that the downtimes are smack bang in the UKs day. It ruins peoples time they put aside to eve it up. All CCPs customers get is a noob apology everytime, which isnt even meant.

Blah. I can't update it. The game won't auto install the patch - even though it asked me if I wanted to and I said yes and it appears the latest patch isn't listed yet to manually download either. LAME.

There's a simple commercial reason for this as well. The majority of the QA Devs, the lead coders, the people responsible for signing off on any project, and funnily enough the servers themselves are on the GMT timezone.
Are they going to get up in the middle of the night (inconveniencing US-evening/night players) to implement a patch ? Newp.
Are they going to EVER stop hearing the whines of people inconvenienced by a patchday downtime ? Newp.
Euro/UK players will be at work. Sane US folk will be in bed. Asia/Aus will be in the evening or night.
It's the best of a bad situation, and hearing people feeling butthurt on the forums because of 6h away from their favourite addiction amuses me.
You knew it was going to be during the UK daytime. It's been posted on the front page of the website most of this week. Suck it up. ..:: MD ::..

You think you have it tough? Try living in Australia. They've got downtime smack dab in the middle of PRIME TIME. Yes, that's right. Between 7 PM and 9 PM (depending on where you live). Quit. Whining. ---- The Demigodess with a Conscience - An EVE IC Blog Personal Killboard |

try living in australia and haveing to deal with a 9 pm server restart ... makes any long term op not viable by australian players cause there is an hour cut out of the middle, and i think CCP are doing fine in terms of DT and wat not sure i'd love to have DT at some other time but the truth is it would just p*** off some 1 else in a different timezone if they moved it
