Thats the tempest, I run a remote armor rep stabber on my alt. I'm missioning for brutor tribe, about .5 away from level 4's. I'm going with the gallante logistics boat on the alt as the skill points allow. Question is what would be best for the last rig slot?
I have plenty of armor with the 3 1600's, in 10 days ill have the skills to upgrade those to t2. The possible scenarios I have considered:
A third trimark, dump one of the 1600's and get another hardener...
Just plain third trimark...
Explosive, as it is the "hole" that needs "plugged"....
Or kinetic, as that is the most likely mission specific damage this ship will be taking.
Thoughts?

There are so many problems I have no idea where to start..
Uhm.. No trimarks on a mission ship.
Get rid of the plates.
T2 plates are worse than meta4.
You don't need a logistics alt to run lvl4's.
Use 800's, not d425's.
Beyond that someone who actually flies these things should post a real setup. ________

wtf dude that was perfectly reasonable advice, it's not his fault that your fitting is actually pretty rubbish for missions.
btw if you put it into EFT and post it in that format it'll be a lot more readible, what you have now is messy ________________

Edited by: Taipan Leviathan on 25/01/2010 11:06:14 Besides the fact that you should get a Maelstrom or a typhoon to do the job 10x better this is a viable fit:
[Tempest, Tempest] Large Armor Repairer II Large Armor Repairer II Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Armor Explosive Hardener II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II 100MN Afterburner II

Lots of damage but crappy tank tough. And having a logistics alt is not going to work.

does 757 dps with my skills without drones tank is low thou... if you think it is too low change a gyro or tracking enhancer for cap module

What a horrible setup OP.
Tempest can either active armour or shield tank (badly) for missions. Best to fly maelstrom (shields) or typhoon (armour).

OMG. Well, at least this is something new...
If you find your method with remote repairing the Tempest interesting to fly, do it (although I doubt it is very effective).
I'd optimize it in several places.
1) It makes much more sense to RR tempest on shield, not on armor. Thus you can fill up the lows with damage mods, to unleash full potential of tempest, and use bonuses of matari cruisers for shield transfer (i believe Scythe has them)
2) Shield or armor, you dont need buffer, so dont put plates or shield extenders on the thing - resists are important here to maximize efficiency of remote repping. Capacitor transfer on tempest is a good idea - it doesnt need cap for anything in this situation, except afterburner.
3) By removing plates, you will free up fitting points, so you can upgrade the guns - 800s will give you more bang, especially in level4, drones will take care of the smaller stuff.
4) Do not tell people to go make love to themselves just because you are arrogant jerk, its impolite.

No gyrostabs, Tech 1 autocannons (lowest tier, no less. Not the smartest move since Dominion), Damage Control on an armor-tanked setup, 3 Plates...wow. L4 mission running expert I am not, but wow. Even on BC, how could a fitting like this get + votes? Not to mention the Cap booster. Sure, they're accepted on the EO forums as good for missions, but Battleclinic generally frowns on Cap injected fits (maybe that's changed recently, but most of the fits I've seen there are CCC-rigged, permarunning setups).
OP, I seriously recommend using one of the other fits suggested in this thread. I personally prefer shield fits for the pest for missions (plenty of room for Gyros that way, although you might as well get a mael). _________

Yes. It's terribad because it's not a mission fit. The fact that it was highly rated at battleclinic means nothing because the rating doesn't tell you what it's for… or if it's even relevant any more (since ships change).
Quote: Thats CCP's formatting. I didn't have time to reformat it properly.
Yes you did. You had time to export, to c&p, and to post – reformatting it to be legible would have taken roughly no time.
Quote: I was polite in the OP, then someone was arrogant, ignorant, and condescending to me.
No. Someone just pointed out what a horrible fit it was for missions, and was right about that as well. You then went of for no useful reason, probably because you didn't understand the question you were asking or the answer that was given to you.
Congratulations, you have run afould of the identification dilemma: you don't know enough about the subject so you must ask, but in not knowing enough, you don't know what to ask or how to interpret the answer, so you need to ask in order to learn those.
The fit you have there is an (outdated) PvP fit, which is of no relevance to missions. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Thanks to everyone that supplied free psycoanalysis.
What we took out of the thread as far as armor is concerned is double up on mission specific hardners, lose one of the 1600's in its place. if I get a 3 or 4 damage type I'll run dmg ctrl II + 3 specific hardners (all you pro fitters following along at home know it will be all but EM).
In the 3rd rig slot I will be putting in a 100 inch antimatter television screen, upon wich to watch Dr. Phil with my good internet friends.

No. What we took out of this thread is:- Learn what to fit for — PvP fits do not fulfil the role of PvE particularly well
- Lose all the plates and the trimarks — they serve no purpose.
- Lose the dual 425s and replace them with 800s.
- In your rigs slots, fit CCCs, tracking and/or falloff rigs.
- Understand the question you're asking, or you won't understand the answer.
- Fit weapon mods.

I understood the question perfectly well. If you think the fit sucks and the post is hard to read because its poorly formatted there is no need to reply. If you think I'm underserving of "help" theres no need to reply. If you don't wish to answer the question I asked theres no need to reply. The question I asked was answered, insight was given, people were thanked. That took about 4 total posts and the rest is poppy****.

No, because then you would have understood that the first post in the thread — the one you immediately flamed — gave you a very good answer.
Quote: If you think the fit sucks and the post is hard to read because its poorly formatted there is no need to reply.
Actually, those are very good reasons why people should reply: to fix a fit that doesn't serve the stated purpose. That's why you came here, right? And your posting in a hard-to-read format only serves to make your question harder to answer, because it's not as immediately clear what is lacking and what isn't.
Quote: The question I asked was answered, insight was given, people were thanked. That took about 4 total posts and the rest is poppy****.
…except for the minor fact that the first answer given was flamed for absolutely no good reason since it was exactly the kind of answer your were looking for. If you didn't understand that it was, then we're back to point one. Also, for the record, I count at least 9 replies in this thread, starting with reply #1, that you should take into consideration. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

the first reply hit 90% of your troubles and you shot him down and insulted him.
nothing more you can say will bring you out as the rightous victor, your own thread or not you shot yourself in the foot.
for some reason people are still willing to help you, because they are on the oposite side of the scale that you are on these forums.
for the record PVE ships: deal as much damage at as much range without stacking too many mods or effectig the tank and the tank should be high resistances with incoming HP from RR or local boosters/repeairs.
Logistic teams work for the hardest plexes etc, but for lvl 4s two gank and tank ship will be best.
