No issues here at all, though turn off the annoying "window snap" feature if you play in windowed mode or you cant drag it up to the top! ------------------------------------------

DO EEET!
Unless you are already on vista which after all the service packs is pretty much a clone of 7. But if you are running XP upgrade now for gods sake and you will get your computers untapped performance back. The only issues I have heard with eve and 7 is if you install the 64bit version and that seems to be more a hardware driver issue than a fault of the eve client.

I've had better luck running while running two clients than I did on XP - it seems to manage resources a little better.
Beautiful, no complaints so far.
Besides, I kinda like the cut of your jib, sailor...

Perfectly.
The only problem I had was running it in windows mode. The top frame of the window kept bumping on-screen when I tried to place it off-screen, so I did not have to see the window frame while playing. But with some kind help from this community I solved it. ALl you had to do was going to the control panel, Ease of Access, "make it easier to focus on tasks", and put a hook on "prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen". When I did all this the game where working just as flawless as always. Heck, maybe even better!
Although. Its quite expensive OS, but then M$ have always been greedy bastards

Win7 64 Bit on both my pc's. one is a top end quad core rig with a GTX 260 and 4 gigs of ram with an intel SSD hdd, other is a 2 year old single core rig with a 7950GT video card, 2 gigs of ram running on a Velociraptor hdd.
No problems on each. Keep your divers up to date, and you're fine. But that advice works with ALL PC's :)

Win7 64 bit. I occasionally get a kernel failure, followed by a mem dump and a reboot upon logging in. It's probably a driver thing, but it's never bothered me that much and once I'm in game it works fine.

Runs perfect. I am a Mac user primarily, and was very happy when CCP first came out with the mac client, unfortunately I was never satisfied with the performance quite enough - so I just build a windows box for games only.
After upgrading to Windows7 I have nothing but pleasure. Still would not replace my os X though, but I would say Microsoft has done a tremendous job with 7, and for those who wish to stay with the PC, I would say upgrade ASAP.

Is there really something wrong with XP?
Last time I checked XP benchmarks were still higher then Vista, but I'm not so sure about 7.

XP doesn't have (native) DX10 or DX11, nor is 64bit as compatible with nearly as many programs.

XP was a nice gaming os until 7 came out. Trust when I say that my machine that performed at what I thought was its max potential with xp literally tripled its overall performance after I installed 7. Games load much quicker and have no moar issues with background level load stuttering in cutscenes and everything else snaps up on screen when I start it. Like I said its not much of a difference when you already have vista but going from xp to 7 if you have a halfway modern machine is pure computing sex.

But then EVE is DX9 so that wont help EVE performance one bit. So this is only an issue if you have a game you play *today* that requires or benefits from DX10/11

Win 7 x64 here, works pretty well. I'm having some graphical stuttering issues, but I think it has more to do with hard drive caching and not defragging. Maybe I'll defrag tonight.

Not to mention virtually every XP is much less secure than Windows 7. Of course, this is MOSTLY because virtually every XP user stays logged in as an administrator. Any viruses or trojans that you get hit with automatically gain complete control of your computer.
Under Windows 7/Vista, UAC will require the virus/trojan to get explicit permission from the user before their code is executed (presuming that the virus/trojan doesn't use an exploit to bypass UAC, and that the user hasn't disabled UAC)
And let's not forget that Windows 7 will be actively maintained for many years now. Windows XP will fall off support, and future vulnerabilities will not be patched. People still running Windows XP will be powerless to secure their system, short of unplugging them from the Internet. ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |

Still haven't totally sorted out if it's my machine, my OS install, a bad card (ATI 4850 HD), or what, but I've found Eve windowed + Windows 7 with Aero is not good. I had to go into Catalyst Control Center and move it to the highest performance setting to get a steady framerate. I also found I could go back to Windows Classic theme and pick up about 20 fps, but seriously, who wants Windows 7 without the snazzy interface.

Windows 7 is like if XP and Vista had a baby, and that baby was perfect. Eve plays well on it. I haven't had any issues with that. I did have some issues upgrading and getting windows 7 stable, but I think that has more to do with my ancient hardware.
