Since loading eve on my new comp with windows 7, in windowed mode, there is no way to change the resolution. I am wondering if this is a bug or intentional or a by-product of windows 7. in Full screen mode, you can change the resolution, but that does me no good, since its still full screen. Any one using windows 7 and able to change the windowed mode screen resoltion?

Yes, it's fairly easy with my computer. I just selected windowed mode, then chose the resolution I wanted, np.

so must be something on my computer. i mean, i have been doing what you said for many years, but only now since a new computer and windows 7, it only has a single resolution. the current window resolution.

is that on windows 7? i laptop can handle 3 accts no problem, 4th will skew one clients graphics when in space all whitish space, but can still see, and with 1 external monitor and that is able to switch resolutions ok, its ok playing, but now i got a sweet new desktop as well with 2x24" monitors, however, can not lower the resolution, so its maxed on 1 screen, and the windows bar on top i would need to push it off screen to get the lower portion of screen on monitor, however, the desktop, just pushed it back into place. kinds of hard to explain, when its the full monitor size, in order to see the whole screen, I have to move the windows top section with the minimize/maximaze off screen.

one possible reason for this behavior (windowed mode only showing very few selectable resolutions) is related to the way windows 7 (and possibly also vista) handles primary and secondary monitors.
discribing this needs a little explanation: on your graphics card you have two monitor ports. internally one of these ports is considered the primary port (port 1), the other one is the secondary port (port 2). if you have two monitors connected, windows 7 (and vista) lets you declare one monitor to be "primary" - this is the one that has the windows taskbar and start icon.
now there are two possible configurations: your primary monitor (the one with the windows taskbar) is connected to port 1, the secondary monitor is connected to port 2 - OR the primary monitor is connected to port 2 and the secondary to port 1.
here's the important bit: ONLY if the primary monitor is connected to port 1, you can set all the resolutions when playing in windowed mode. - otherwise you only get 3 or 4 (usually quite high) alternative resolutions.
hope this helps.

Did that work? Because I've been experiencing exactly the same problems - I run dual clients in windowed mode - one on my 22" @ 1440x900 and one on my old (I think) 17" at 1156x865 (or something like that) - The only way I've been able to recently get my smaller resolution at the desired res is to change my resolution properties on my second monitor to the desired eve resolution, as it THEN becomes available, then change my monitor resolution back to 1240x1024, which is a fair bit of hasstle to just play a blummin game. ------------- Rough Necks Alliance

can you use the system display app to identify which is display 1 and which one is 2, then make sure, 1 is your main desktop and is where the taskbar is, unless you have moved it. Other than that, that is basically what I did and it worked for me. If yours still does not work, then it must be a different problem.

something weird. i just got a sdd today, so reinstalled everything. and it didnt work as the last time, i had to plug in the other monitor as #1 and make that primary to make it work, it was weird, i dont understand it at the moment, but maybe playing with which one connects to which dvi port, than making #1 primary, dont really know the scenario, but try playing around with it.

I'm having this same issue. I just updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest version to try to fix this with no luck, also tried switching my DVI cable to the other port on my graphics card. Interestingly though, in full screen I have like 12+ different resolutions to pick from, but in windowed mode I only have 1680x1050 and 1680x1024. My monitor top ends at 1680x1050, but I like to play windowed at 1440x900 so that I can monitor my Teamspeak and other windows. I am going petition this and see if I get anywhere.

I was having this issue as well on a Windows 7 + Nvidia setup. I had a full selection of resolutions in full screen, but only 2 high resolutions in windowed mode. I managed to get it to work by starting it in full screen, changing the resolution to the one I wanted my windows to be in, and applying it. I was then able to select windowed mode with that resolution as an option.
