Edited by: BeachParty on 02/02/2010 20:00:40 Edited by: BeachParty on 02/02/2010 19:59:25 I have to say, Jita scares the daylight out of me. Two jumps outside Jita with a hold brimming with contraband and my mind awash with X-Instinct My heart actually pounds. I never get this kind of rush hauling through low sec. I remember when EVE TV did a shoot outside of moon 4 when I pulled in with a shuttle with some BP's in it. When the shuttle fell out of warp in front of the station a daisy chain of large smart bombs poped and by chance I found my self in what I believed at the time to be the only pocket not consumed by the blasts. Now many months latter I am still consumed with the notion that Jita could be the most dangerous system in the game. The amount of time and energy that can be lost in a heart beat is astounding. God save me, warp to station and dock it up. Would love to hear your experience.

You do realize that Jita is surrounded by Hisec, right? Maybe you should take a look at this C&P thread. It has wonderful things called MAPS:

Fation it a navy battleship with the hugest buffer you can get, then sit in Jita for a day. After that do the same in Amamake and there you will have you answer. Do however remember to sit in Jita first unless you want to replace the ship you lose in Amamake to try it in Jita. Your average Eve pilot will not fly through a more dangerous system then Jita. Mainly for two reasons: 1) Many pilots never leave high sec for fear of PvP. 2) Of all the high sec systems you are probably most likely to be suicide ganked in Jita.
Depending on how you measure dangerous a point could be made for Jita being most dangerous.
However generally you have to be hauling something of relative value to be ganked for most people it's not dangerous all. Where as in low sec or null sec you can be owned at any gate regardless of the value of your cargo.
If you go by the potential amount of isk that could be lost...well then many massive fleet battles cause more loss in isk/ships then jita does on a daily basis I would imagine.
However of all the systems in game Jita is probably the only one that you KNOW with 100% certainty there is risks anytime you enter, that can be from gankers or scammers. Where as any other system in game you just have to be on your toes with the potential of bad.
That being said...I get more worried hauling through null sec then I ever do jumping into Jita.

That would depend on whether or not they take the INTAN can in Jita ;D

Jita, or any other system, is only as dangerous as you make it.
I've hauled T2 BPOs and officer mods thru Jita (and 30 jumps) without incident numerous times.
If you get ganked with valuable stuffs it's because you're doing it wrong. Period. |

To clarify BeachParty smuggles contraband in a frigate named Top Cat. Have never stopped for Customs and never droped a load. But the fear is always there.

If your corp has an active war dec, or if you are flying in an untanked ship with cargo worth 300 mil or more, then yeah Jita is a pretty dangerous place.
Otherwise there is nothing to fear

I hear Nijaria is a nice place to be with freighters full with billions in officer mods. Also, I now have one of those annoying sigs.

I have a bookmark that puts me below the station that I warp to. It's still within docking range and everything, and it prevents me from landing on top of someone with smartbombs or something. I also have an insta out. Never had any problems.

Hy,
I don't understand. Jita it's 0.9 sec. So the police will not attack them if they gang you?
I am new here and only 2 months in game and I want to know if I should avoid Jita. Or you are talking about diffrent situation.
Thanks

CONCORD do kill them.
What they're referring to is suicide ganking.
Basically, They scan your cargo, If you're carrying a lot of high value stuff in a ship that dies quickly they'll attack you and kill you before CONCORD arrives to deal with them, Then have an alt or friend scoop the loot. ------------------------- I'm not shirtless damnit! |

I wouldn't call Jita the most dangerous system. Its definitely one of the more interesting systems to fly through. There is always something happening there that makes stopping in worth the visit. |

There's no other system in Eve that I have been through with as many valuables as Jita (hundreds of millions, and sometimes over a billion, worth of items in the hold on a daily basis over long periods of time), and aside from a tiny few minor ship losses when alliances I've been in have been declared on - I've always been perfectly safe there. ----- 'In Eve, as in real life, if you are bored it's your own fault.' |

funny I would think someone hauling expensive goods though a .5 or .6 system would have more of an o-ring tightening experience.
