Ive never been in a stealth bomber fleet, but was wondering how you make sure you dont uncloak each other by accidental collision?
Once in a WH i was waiting by the bait ship for some excpected pirates to take it on, when all of a sudden, i collided with the stealth bomber i was waiting for and we both uncloaked.
If it can happen randomly between opposing sides, how often does it happen in gangs? (Also, is this something thought of by CCP when i heard the rumor about formation flying?) Look at me, im using the INTERNETS! |

In cloaky ships, never warp to 0.
One way to do it is to make all your cloakies bounce to different celestials then back to the target at range, so they all approach from a different direction ---------- Sig Page 1 Snipah YOU CANT MINE SO YOU KILL |

one cloaky ship can uncloak another cloaky ship.... you wounld't bump each other if cloaked.
you could have 50 ships all cloaked in one tiny bubble and no one would know, however, if one uncloaked, the uncloaked ship would decloak everything within 2k... and if you all close enough, it would start a chain reaction.
best advise was given above.....
never warp to zero... warp to different objects and back in at range.

^^incorrect.
you don't have to be uncloaked to decloak someone else.
If you're less than 2km from another ship, celestial or collidable object, the cloak doesn't work.
Two cloaked ships 1.5km from eachother doen't happen. the moment one of the above gets closer than 2000m, cloak turns off.

lol, either you don't fly cloakies... or you really need to update yourself in what you can do with them...
a cloaked ship will not decloak another cloaked ship. (even at 0)

Yeah if you want to troll COAD is about 7 boards south of us. For some reason I've just tested this on tranquility (cos we all know if you warp to 0 on a cloaked ship you decloak them) and what a suprise I decloaked my corp mate when I warped to 0 on him.

I can confirm that cloaked ships will decloak one another if they end up closer than 2km to each other. Warping to 0m in cloakies is a big no-no.

Confirming cloaked ships will decloak each other as soon as they're in range of each other. afaik that has been in for the past year now.

Atlas doesnt run stealth bomber gangs that often, but there are a dos and donts i've picked up on from our own gangs, and watching hostile sbs operate against our large fleets.
Warping to random celestials and then back to the warp-in isnt always a good idea, as a fight in progress will have bubbles up, and other ships moving around, and coming in at range will put you all at different positions and different angles, which can lead to friendly fire if your gonna drop bombs.
A better way to avoid decloaking each other would be to warp to the warpin at staggered times, while the warp-in is moving straight in one direction. For example, everyone picks a number from 1-10, and warps as the FC calls the number, which, when combined with natural exit variation of a few km, will almost always land you safe.
If you know where the enemy fleet is likely to be (defending an SBU/Starbase/Whatever), try to position your fleet beforehand, in line with their likely allign out point, that way you can spread out enough to stay cloaked with no problem before it matters. (Protip, many fleets will use the pos they stage out of as a warp-out, so get on the target grid between the object and the hostile staging tower)
If your moving against caps (killing fighters/sentrys), if your confident in your warpin, you can come in decloaked, immediatly drop your bombs, then burn and cloak well before the pos targets you. This is more viable than you'd think, as cautious FCs will often tell support to stay off grid with any pos with active guns, so your chances of being locked are pretty slim.
Thats three things you can do, i'd post more, but i don't wanna make this any more of a wall-o-text than it already is.
tl;dr, Stagger your warpins, set up on grid beforehand, warp in decloaked.
Peace,

CCP stated that this was a bug accidentally introduced during a patch last April. They said they were going to fix it, but seem to have forgotten all about it....

To the op: Yell at ur fleetmembers to set them up correctly and not to move once they have a spot ... also, they should bm this spot.
Other hints have already been given.
Oh and .... Cloaky stuff not decloaking each other would be pretty awesome ... but i can't help myself: a tiny part in me is saying it's already ok as it is.
But screw it ... some CSM should bring it up and CCP should fix this (like many other things)

You cant. But generally you dont use the cloak to maneuvre a whole fleet on a hostile grid. You will have 1 cov ops doing it and then the whole gang warps to him decloaked.

Actually yes he does, and he said: Quote: That a cloaked ship will not decloak another cloaked ship!
But warping at different ranges and from different celestials should remedy any doubt a pilot may have about decloaking as well, I would imagine - wouldnt you Gobbins?

CCP admitd that this is a bug. Cloaked ships shoudl NOT unclaock ech other. Even so it seems is a very low priority bug for them to solve. Same thing as the PROMISSE we go when the SB were changed that they would soon give an option to use a non covert ops cloak but with no reacloak delay.
ccp and their priority list... impossible to understand... as always

Yup, is bug.
Happen when they fix cloaked ship station docking.
They unfix cloaked ship not decloaking other cloaked ship.
