Has anyone tried? I am looking at getting a netbook, one of the reasons would be to play EVE when away from my main computer. Nothing long term or high performnce as far as gameplay, but just enough to make skill changes, maybe mine a couple things, and chat.
Anyone out there played much on a netbook? If so, how was the experience?

I have an old ultra-portable. EVE hits 100% CPU and never starts.
I've read that some people with modern netbooks are capable of playing with minimum graphic settings. YMMV.

An Atom powered netbook can run EVE enough for trading. You can do PvE if you are brave and comfortable with only using the overview. You have to play zoomed out because even low graphics will make the screen pretty choppy if you are looking at anything detailed. The servers run on 1 second updates so a small amount of choppiness doesn't effect much.
Yes its playable, and I make do just fine. Be prepared for some limitations though.

I just bought a new Acer mini laptop for my kid sister (you know the ones with 10,5" inch screen) it has 1gig of ram and 160Gb HD and boosts a LAN connection as well. Only problem when playing EVE is the absent of ordinary mouse and the 'double tab for right click' -feature that I couldn't switch off. You can also hook it to a bigger screen (telly if you have a HD-ready one) and mouse pad can be circumvented with a regular mouse if you like. Costed only 250Ç which I think was actually quite a bargain.

It works ok on a Eee PC 900 A running Windows 7 as long as you don't mind very low FPS. Some things are a bit buggy though.
Its fine for moving round highsec and skills.
