I personally have been writing C, in all of its various iterations, since the bloody language became a language. Sod off and stuff yourself, CCP hardly has a corner on the professional C programmer market, and wedding C to Pything isn't rocket science to people who do it every day. Obviously it is to you, though.......... ( rolling eyes )
1) Stop being a basement dweller. My 4,000 square foot hause has a basement, but I do manage to make a habit of visiting most every room at least once a week, thanks.
2) Go to work [That's where i'm at. I didn't even know the TQ server was down]. So am I. And I was PLAYING the game when it puked. Being in a senior position in charge of the department allows me certain...........priviledges, ones that are earned from being at the top of my field ( see above ), so again, sodd off and stuff it.
3) Go to School. I Have my doctorate degrees. School was 30 years ago. Try again, scooter.
4) Play something else [Gasp!] Sadly, as awful as the server downtimes can be, this is still the best game on the planet, so no, I won't go play something else. I will continue to demand that they get their heads out of their collective asses and show Microsoft the damned door in favor of something much better suited to the job.

Having worked in the IT business a bit, There are clauses that protect most E-products against this. I'm sure CCP has a clause that says they do not promise 23/7 coverage of their product.
What we have, here, is an issue with inflexible people.

Every piece of software that isnt GPL comes with an eula, and end user license agreements aren't made to protect the end user, they are made to protect the proprietor. I have yet to play an MMO where it did not say in the eula that I could be perm banned for no reason.
That being said, you can put anything in the 'license' you want, if you charge for 30 days of gametime and don't supply it, its going to **** people off on a large scale. CCP definately charges for 30 days of gameplay and they definitely dont supply it. Slice that up any way you want but the truth hurts, but it hurts fanbois more.

No, you pay for 30 days of access to the servers, not play time. They made no guarantees that the server would be up 24/7, as in section 12 of said EULA, you agreed.
Don't like it? Don't pay.

Your math sucks pretty bad. I'm already paying for 30x23 hours of gameplay. The "then STFU" attitude is why eve is the smallest mmo out. You can argue that till you're blue in the face, but the proof is in the pudding.

Meh. Send em to boot camp and make real Men and Women out of them. Worked for me 25 years ago.
btw my 15ish dollars/month are amazingly well spent in this game. I'd actually pay twice that and still be very happy.

What does low subscriber number have to do with anything in this thread anyway? Are you trying to spin it so it sounds like all these recent crashes and server instability have something to do with the lower numbers than other mainstream MMO's? So I'm guessing the niche appeal of EVE has nothing to do with that whatsoever. Riiiiight...

CCP Has done a great job.
It's not buttering the truth.
It's being realistic.
There are hundreds of server-shards, transferring thousands of users quickly - and only down an hour a day. One a bad day, more, yes.
But if you can't grasp the scope of their work - the you can find your own way to the door.

Funny thing is that I really don't play much because I play the skill training game.
Lots of thing I'd like to do, use, try...but I need to wait and get the training done. In that sense EVE does not lend itself to spontaneous play. So I log on, adjust the training and log off.
I don't bother with low-sec because you need muscle to survive there. Or kiss some corps CEO's arse so they "allow" you to survive.
That's currently where I'm at. So I enjoy annoying all you little people here on the forums. You make it so easy. I may just re-sub just to keep posting in the forum.

CCP must be doing something right!
I have average about three months a year, mostly around expansions. I used to have 2 accounts, 365 a year, so as far as I am personally concerned, no they have failed. But you will find that is the case with most old players. And no I wasn't unhappy back then, stuff actually got done. Lag was identified as a major issue in 2005, and every single year there is some magically hardware, or super new software change that is going to fix it, and it never does, and half the time we have regressions like we are seeing now.

I'm in America, Fairly far away from the Tranquility cluster - And I have no issue with Lag whatsoever.
I'm sure most lag issues come from ****ty, cheap connections / cheap machines / User error. I'm sure of it.

That is what testing software is for. It tests all possible scenarios. Keep in mind that behind the graphics, EVE is nothing but a numbers game. and yes, good programmers are taught to test for any possible input...even the stupid invalid ones that may crash a system.

Seriously, imagine being that miffed about the game but finding nothing better to do with your time than bash it on the forums.
I've learned some things about players who just log in and change skills, but can't find anything to do.
A) they are not creative enough to figure out what they want to do
B) they like to blame others for this lack of creativity (ie CCP)
C) they are too antisocial to find other people to do things with. this I blame on their general annoying attitude.

I have average about three months a year, mostly around expansions. I used to have 2 accounts, 365 a year, so as far as I am personally concerned, no they have failed. But you will find that is the case with most old players. And no I wasn't unhappy back then, stuff actually got done. Lag was identified as a major issue in 2005, and every single year there is some magically hardware, or super new software change that is going to fix it, and it never does, and half the time we have regressions like we are seeing now.
If you have been in game that long, then you will have realized that lag is on average getting better... unfortatly we are poeple so as lag gets reduced we just toss more people in making lag worse again.
Less lag = more people in fleets
More people in fleets = more lag
it will be teh cycle forever.
This is discounting post patch lag (thats always an issue, because its impossible to test things on a server wide scale, pre deployment.)
eve is the longets running continuously growing mmorg, they must be doing something right? no?
Also everyone who is whinning is still playing so it cant be that bad... if it was they would not be here to whine about it.

This is referring to 1600+ man fleets. Unless every system has 1600+ people in it, there's no reason for *****ing.
Also - The devblog mentions information "Not getting there in a timely fashion". This would be said "Crappy connections" that I mentioned. I, for one, have no issues with my machines talking to CCP's node.

I hate to burst your bubble there bud, but this is complete nonsense. Some people log in to change skills because they are building towards something and don't feel that they wish to partake in gameplay elements at their current level of progression, besides that some people just don't have the time but want to progress...
Secondly, feeling sorry for someone who clearly is having you all in for a giant wind up just shows your naivety level, don't be so dragged into what people say on a gaming forum.
