Null sec - up to 8 players per group, 8 groups allowed. You can initiate Avatar PvP action within the site. Site has no interior weapons. The site can be destroyed.
Do you also want a dungeon finder? That's how the current game mechanics work. I guess you want the new Avatar Exploration sites to disregard the current game mechanics and allow you to freely grief other Avatars, right?
As for the amount of people entering the sites, high sec has small sites with small rewards, low sec has medium sites with medium rewards and null sec has large sites with large rewards. The amount of reward gained is subject to the size of the site which is dictated by the security level of space it resides in.
Lexmana wrote:DeMichael Crimson wrote:No dedicated experienced explorer is going to enter these sites with the risk of losing their clone, their skill points, their implants, their ship, their loot and end up in a medical clone on the other side of the universe. That was about the saddest thing I have read in a while. Explorers have been taking extreme risks since the beginning of time. Many have suffered and died on their quest and no one even remembers their name. Some have succeeded and been rewarded with fame, fortune and immortality. But that was before New Eden and DeMichael Crimson's gang of "dedicated experienced explorers". This new breed of "explorers" feel entitled to unlimited richness with minimal risk and effort "exploring" with impunity under CONCORD protection. You should be ashamed calling yourself explorers. You are nothing more than farmers in blinged out spaceships. I really hope they go through with this idea just to see a new breed of true explorers prosper and replacing the followers of DMC. I hope CCP will reward them well with richness far beyond those the current "dedicated experienced explorers" can even imagine.
Heh, this is the most BS I've seen in a long time. You got a problem with current game mechanics pertaining to high security, deal with it. Sounds like what you want is easy risk free Kill Mail whoring.
I kinda hope CCP agrees with your 'Vision' of how Avatar Exploration sites should be implemented. I'd enjoy going to every site you and your 'New Breed Of True Explorers' enter and while you're in them, just destroy those sites. That will definitely give all of you the opportunity to prosper and experience the reward of losing your clone, skillpoints, implants, ship and loot along with the ability to start over again in a brand new Medical Clone on the other side of the universe.
Yeah, that's exploration all right. Exploring a new game called Griefer Online. |

While I understand your sentiment, I don't agree with it. Like it or not, the core element to EVE has always been, and will continue to be the "spaceships" in the foreseeable future. It will be augmented by other stuff like WiS/Incarna, but there's no changing it. And with that, you can't just up and abandon developing the core of a MMO for nearly two years, especially when you already have a huge backlog of half-finished and abandoned "features" already needing fix and update. Two years is a long time, especially for an MMO trying to run on nothing but fumes.
Drakarin wrote:War for the sake of war with no real purpose or reason. It's pathetic, barbaric and boring. I don't blame CCP for a second though, The players are the problem, and it's also why pure democracy would suck. The majority get what they want while the minority (in this case a fairly large minority) get screwed over.
You want your silly pointless wars, fine. You already have them. Now let them work on stuff that actually has impact and depth like immersion and lore and expanding the game past the same damn thing it's been since it was created, ships in space.
It may seems to have no purpose and boring to you, but to those who have stakes in the wars or enjoy the fighting, it is certainly neither. Also, I certainly don't remember when you were appointed to decide what has impact and depth in EVE.
I love EVE lores, I wish CCP would put out more chronicles, and throw more support behind the live-events like they used to do. Heck, I consider EVE's lore and storyline to be one of the top victim in the "half-finished and abandoned features" that I mentioned earlier. But I'm under no illusion that it should come at the cost of the core game for 2 years, especially when it's in the form of another half-baked feature that was not done well, had no clear purpose, and apparently no real sense of direction as far as what it is trying to achieve. |

If you somehow randomly generated the whole of the inside of a titan, that would BLOW MY MIND. Have areas where you can look up and see 100 stories of floors and each floor is randomly procedural generated to be explorable. Maybe there is a time limit untill the titan wreck goes into self destruct. Or being inside a battleship *not a real eve ship but an environment*, and giving the real full scale of the ships? Mass effect did this well in one level where you explore an old ship wreck that is like a mile long, and falling apart, awesome stuff.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The pod could make it so you have need of very few to no crew on some ships. Larger ones always needed crew. The piloting and command of the ship was simplified by the pod. The rest wasn't.

They are coming SuperSeriouslySoon TM (S.S.S TM being a time unit defined as the time it would take any standard hell to freeze and then thaw again).
Anwyay, I wonder how long would it take until someone cosplays in Fanfest... in my very limited knowledge, there wouldn't be nothing impossible to replicate in EVE's dressing, aside of the way the clothes wrap around the bottom of larger breasts.
(Well, then there are those "minima" heels too, which i can't completely figure how would work mechanically so the strap wouldn't break/open/hurt the wearer... I guess it's supposed that the V lock on the strap will open to a wider angle so the wearer slips the foot thrugh the strap, then it will close back to the narrower angle to lock the strap and fit it to the ankle... but then you're left with those solid V locks banging on the feet when walking...)
(Yes, speculating over weird irrelevant questions is one of my favorite passtimes) "We want your help to convince management to develop Incarna into 3rd person shooter dungeon raiding with friendly fire in nullsec space..."

Ok I love the idea of explorable procedurally generated stations/outposts so that there can be a wide variety of stations to be discovered, etc....
HOWEVER>....
Why don't you guys start small, before you go to that extent enable inviting people to CQ its a novelty, don't advertise it as a big feature but atleast the ability to see more than 1 person in a CQ would be interesting... Allow us to buy one of those nifty strategy game tables for our CQ, and place it wherever we want, and when people are invited over they can play it...
Something small and trivial but ground breaking... And on top of that you can have a "More people can't be invited as it would be a fire hazard" to limit # of people in your CQ...
I mean i love the exploration ideas, but honestly the biggest thing that i was looking forward to with the promise of WIS, was the station experience of going to a club thats owned by a corp mate, and playing some games with some buddies and making bets... Basically the EOH guys could actually really have an EOH area in a station somewhere in eve with a bunch of casino's and poker and other stuff...
Slot machines that the owners can set rates on etc.. things like that
This was just something that astonished me, seeing atleast some tangible forward momentum in the system is what is missing, yes protyping is wicked, but we need to see some tangible results commercially for WIS to not be a joke...
Procedurally generated exploration stations with the ability to fight and kill is where you need to get, but what about starting at the same stations where there is no fighting allowed yet, (that can come later) but that we can walk around, for the love of god...
WANT EVERYONE TO BE ESTATIC?
Add a f*cking window! I'm not joking here, or make the view screen able to switch to an outside view of the station, why should i have to undock and dock station game style to see if theres people outside the station?1?!??!? CCP has said you can render multiple 3d scenes, so why can't the tv have a station with the 3d scene is the status outside the station...
It's not much advantage really as station game redock is 100% safe... and hell if you want it to be less advantage than even that, show the area on screen but don't highlight blues/reds etc...but personally i wish it could be like that new tactical overlay that was shown at FanFest, but with the station at the center. |
