Just built a new system and it locks up a few x's a night while doing WH sites.
Nothing in the event log ofc.
How would I go about narrowing down the cause?
I loaded the newest firmware for my MB last night, didnt fix it. Newest drivers for my GPU, same.
Used EVGA Eleet to check my temps, all look ok, not overclocked.
I have a 2nd GTS 250, just havent put it in yet.

Does you system lock up or just eve?
Do you recieve an error to do with C++ and eve.exe no longer working etc etc etc?
What drivers where you using before you updated?
I am using windows 7 Pro also and have a lock up whenever I am multi client running. Seems to be whenever thet are large numbers of ships around... GREAT ERROR TO HAVE IN EVE!!
I am rolling back drivers to see if this solves the issue. On other forum post mentioned this from late December to early January/ February. I do believe that CCP changed some of the shader models in the recent patches and they are causing problems NOT with Ati or Nvidia but with windows 7 only. It IS 100% a problem on thier end and I believe they are aware of it but that was from another online forum.

My entire PC freezes up. Have to power it down. I've only ran the newest drivers. I could try the original ones.

I'm having the problem described in this thread, first noticed it tonight. Total system lockup, have to reboot. After having it happen a couple times in a row attempting to launch EVE resulted in a error reporting that my client may have been changed or corrupted, uninstalled and am currently re-installing, will see how it goes.

Ok there are a few things that we need to know. What GFX cards are you using. What version of drivers are you using. Example: 9.10 Windows 7 ATi (Lastest = 10.1) Telling us the version and the lastest version available will save us time searching. What Mobo, hardrives, OS, Processor. BIOS versions for your MOBO (as above with GFX drivers)
With your systems doing a full lock I would dare to say the problem may lay on your end but that is just me being cautious. As one of you said you have updated your firmware etc but make sure that your have done them all. ie: Chipset, LAN, SATA drivers etc. BIOS is an important update that needs to be done if you are updating all chipset and MOBO drivers. As for the new system I would get a processor temp monitor and see how high that goes. Another option would be to check that you are using the latest bios. I build a system with a new chip and needed the new bios to run the chips and then new chipset and LAN drivers to work with THAT bios. Another option would be to remove all RAM sticks and run one at a time to root out bad sticks. Another option is if you are running crossfire to remove one of the cards and try running with one. To all of you my simpathies. I have just built a new system, and had crashes when running more than one client untill I updated everything and (THIS BIT IS IMPORTANT AND I ALWAYS FORGET TO TRY IT) ROLLED BACK THE DRIVERS!! I am using 9.10 W7 drivers NOT the 10.1 drivers and they are rock solid stable now. No crashes and running 4 clients!
