I'm not sure if this has been kicked around already.
Currently the only way to have trained toons in all three slots is by either buying the alts, buying an alt account (which increases the untrained toons) or finally by buying one in the Bazaar.
I am suggesting CCP create a new PLEX system that allows 30 days (or a set number of SP) training. This would minimize the number of accounts necessary to fully train while still providing CCP with the income it generates from the alt accounts.
I don't think it would have a significant effect on the Bazaar sales, either as it will still be simpler for those with the ISK to purchase the toon they want immediately, rather than training one for months.

You can also stop training one slot and start training another...

Corrected. Thanks.

I'd like to see all three character slots trainable at the same time. Why give us three slots if we can only use one? Makes no sense to me...

You're proposing that we could pay 3 times as much for a single account, and then have training on all 3 chars at the same time? Makes sense to me, since multiple accounts are just annoying to keep track of. -------------------------- 2 Years later, mining continues to be the most overlooked game mechanic in Eve |

I like this idea. Maybe three account levels (As PLEX's are just in game time codes converted into items)
Could we have a new account system perhaps? Basic Account, Adv. Account and Expert Account (CCP like names like that right?) It's an account option that lets you train one extra character at once and.. I dunno.. Share a wallet? I'd always loved the idea that multiple characters on a single account should share the same wallet. Would make my life about 5 times easier. The only problem is that you'd then have to log into your own account multiple times so they'd have to change the access methods, rewrite a lot of code and fiddle with the client log in to display which characters are current 'In-world' or in use. Could cause issues, sticking and bugs.
I know running multiple accounts is annoying but the method currently works and it means you cna have them both logged in at the same time.

More or less. Perhaps a little discount since you can't play them at once like you can a true alt. I'd rather not have three accounts with three CC transactions, three logins, etc.

All I said is that we have 3 character slots and you can only train one at a time. Make the other two actually usable on your account, or take the other two slots away. No paying for the other two (which you are anyway), or anything like that. I just want to use what I have without buying a second account. I don't have money for 2 accounts. $40 a month is too expensive for a game, just to have two characters.

Edited by: Ankast on 14/02/2010 22:17:29 I think a good solution would be to have a tiered account system.
You could have the first level account, such as we have now, where only one character is trainable, or you could upgrade your account, where you pay slightly more each month, but you can have two characters in training at one time, or go for a top level account where you pay a bit more again and can have all 3 characters trainable. Maybe a Bronze/Silver/Gold account system?
That way you could train as many characters as you want, maybe have one in training permanently and split training between the other 2, or have all 3 in training. CCP would still be getting the revenue for the 'facility' provided but there would be less need for people to have so many individual accounts and so less account maintenance etc.
Not sure about being able to log more than 1 char per account in. I'd be happy just to be able to train more than 1 char per account, but still only be able to log in one at a time. If you want to log in more than one character at a time, then your back to having multiple accounts.
Well, that's my two-penneth.
Cheers,
Ank

Personally, I'd prefer to buy training for the alts a month at a time. It would provide another market item (which tiered accounts would not) and it would probably be easier to change when I wanted to turn training on and off.
If it's easier on the programming, I would go for a tiered system, though.
