I dont have the problem, but since this seems to be a graphic related error I just want to give this URL where you should be able to download modified/optimized catalyst drivers that works even for laptop. I work in a computer repair shop and i always use them for laptop with ATI chips, worked great so far.
Plz report here any success with them here so other ppl know it works.

I have a PC with Win 98 SE and ATI Radeon 8500. (yeah quite old i know). Windowed mode
I freeze mostly when getting out of a Station, sometimes, not always. I Thought didn't when getting into warp, since i've played 1 hour merely travelling and warping several systems and nothing, till now that i've freezed when warping in an asteroid belt just when i had left the station.
It's not only a laptop issue i think, and more an ATI one.
I didn't have any problem till now (only the usual lag one )

One user reported that he fixed the problem by putting planetary details on medium/low. That user had a labtop with ATI 9000IGP Mobilty card. Give it a try

My experiments have yielded results similar to DrakipÆs (a few posts up). Zooming out immediately after undocking and when around stations, as well as keeping stations off camera when initializing warp, has let me crash after only ¢ of my undockings. Don't go near a station and you're fine...
IÆve tried setting my planetary details on medium and low. No help.
I hope this can be addressed without making ATI card laptop users download 3rd party drivers. ATI doesnÆt put out updated Catalysts for us, or I would have installed those (though even they may not solve the problem).
Still trying,

From the number of posts and threads about this this seems to be one of the most common problems. Hopefully CCP will have a more official solution or patch to fix this soon. Tried a lot and I still freeze every time I dock for too short a period of time. ----------------------------------
"There's no +6 Sword of WTFPWN in Eve." - Er... Some person on the forum... |

Well, I upgraded to Catalyst 4.11, and I haven't had much trouble since. (ATI Radeon 9200, btw)

I was having this problem every time I undocked in a slowed ship. (eg. My Hoarder) I have an ATI Radeon 9200. I installed the lastest Windows XP drivers (version 4.11) from the ATI web site, and the problem has completely disappeared.
I did not install the full "Catalyst" version of the drivers, I saw a note on the ATI site that suggested that Catalyst should only be run on systems that contain a Radeon 9500, or better, video card.
