Edited by: DrXavier on 16/02/2010 01:04:02 I'm trying to find a corp that will be a proper fit for me, but I can't because a large portion of you have no idea how to post a recruitment thread. People who are looking for a corp don't care if one of your requirements is that applicants "must have a positive attitude and good integrity." We also don't care if your corp has aspirations to be the best in X, Y, and Z activities. Yet you guys are using your recruitment threads to do exactly that--list requirements and provide a hazy outline of your general goals.
PLEASE!! Give us the real substance. Don't list requirements for applicants if you're not going to list a detail description of your corp. You need to include in your posts obvious things such as your home region, current number of members, tax rate, corp member benefits, and so on. If you have a tax rate above 0%, what exactly are those funds going to and how are they helping your corp members? That's the sort of stuff we want to know. Too many of you are not answering even those simple questions in your threads. YOU are trying to get US to join your corp, so don't make yourself sound all uptight about your specific SP requirements and all that junk. Make your corp look attractive for god's sake. I've got 35 million SP at my disposal but can't find a single corp that I want to join because too many of you are not providing substantive details.

Well, I guess we can strike "must have a positive attitude" eh? That and good integrity is what the corporation expects from you, not the other way around. Recruiting goes both ways, the corp provides a service to you, and you return do the same for them.
Now, to some of your other points. Tax rate and current number of members is easily looked up by yourself (Eve is a game about research after all), revealing one's home region might be a security issue or not really be applicable in the case of Merc/Pirate corps.
Corp member benefits, you know this is a game and not a job right? And as to an explanation of what the corp taxes are used for makes me think you are the sort of person who thinks most corps are stealing from their members, which is almost never the case in my experience.
As to SP requirements they can be quite important depending on what activities a corporation is engaged in, though almost all corps make exceptions for exceptional players.
You have 35m SP's eh? In what may I ask? Oh, you forgot to tell us, hard to say whether you'd be a good fit or not.

HI Dr X. check our our thread, its fairly discriptive. I dont get into the nitty gritty cause the post would be about 9 pages long...just kidding.

Home region is easy to see as most have it in their corp home page. most only to bother to look it up only if they have interest in the corp to begin with, and the number of members also.
As far as tax's some corps dont have them or only have them set to 1 to 5% since its not thier income base. This info you would only get once you have spoken with a director or Ceo perhaps.
Home this helps you out. have fun ingame, CK

If you're too lazy to list that sort of info in your recruitment thread, then I can't be bothered to look it up. Take some initiative. When you're looking for good members to join your corp, you really have to sell yourself properly. Making a lazy post and telling people to look up extra information for themselves is just not the way to do so. When it comes down to it, corps are only as good as their members are, so I think the corp carries most of the burden when it comes to attracting potential recruits. It doesn't bother me that I'm not interested in your corp, but it should bother you. If it doesn't bother you that good players don't care to join your corp, then you're not going to be too successful are you?
As to your comments about my not giving info about myself in this thread, you missed the entire point if you think the purpose here is for me to advertise myself. This thread is only meant to chastise people like you. Those who this thread is not directed toward know who they are. They are people who actually put some effort into their recruitment posts. The fact that I upset you so much would lead me to believe you are not one of those people. |

Indeed, your post covers most of what players would want to know. |

Actually i would be very happy with just the member number and home system. But i feel the same way, its really hard now to find a good corp.

home system and specific corp details like that are kept secret by some corps for a reason. if you're an active pvp corp like mine, you don't want to go advertising where all your stuff is stashed. keep things like that in mind. ----
