Audio: on Brackets: off FPS: generally between 20 and 50, during the fight 7-9 Desyncs: no, some module lag though FPS comparison to TQ: 5-6 Comments: Jumping took a long time, about 2min 40sec but after the jump the grid loaded pretty fast within about 5 seconds. There was some module lag but it was tolerable. Overview is still not reliable enough, it shows false broadcasts and updates too slow. When I removed pods from overview the whole game froze for about 6-8 seconds. ----- Sable's Ammo Shop at Alentene 5, Moon 4, Duvolle Laboratories Factory. Ammo at affordable prices. |

User Experience ----------------
Audio : Enabled (no music) Brackets : Disabled Average FPS : ~30 FPS during fight. Did not see substantial difference between zoomed in or out. Desync : A few stuck guns, but nothing serious. TQ >< Sisi : 5, according to the relatively small numbers we had this time.

TEST: 2010/05/29 OS: Win 7 Home Prem x64 RAM: 8GB (DDR3) CPU: Q6700 (Quad core @ 2.66MHz stock) GPUs: 2xHD4870 1GB (Crossfire)
Audio: On Brackets: On Desync: Only with modules and drones (drones were released but did not show in drones list) Pef Rating: 6-7
Experience: CPU and GPU never maxed out, FPS stayed around 20-30 at lowest point. I missed the battle due to low fuel (fail on my part. My feeling is most of the perceived lag at this point has to do with frequency or amount of data sent to my pc to be processed by eve client. The CPU and GPU weren't even hitting 50%
All and all, I think this wasn't so bad. I've seen worse.

* Average FPS during the test(s) 20-30? didnt have monitor on.

* On a scale of 1-10, how would you compare FPS and performance between this test and TQ? (1=way worse, 5=same, 10=OMG this is awesome)First fleet fight ive been in that size so idk. normal stuff though gets a 5
* Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc. Had all effects on for the form up and first jump non-combat, after sitting at the gate in the cluster of ships i turned on fps, ctrl-f, and once it came up was getting 5-15 fps. a 20-30 seconds of sitting there fps dropped to 0.8 and then my screen went tottally black, i run eve in a window.
reset my compy, got back in and tried to warp away from the clusterball. as i was warping away i turned on my fps monitor and the screen froze, not just eve but everything. i know my background app were running because i still heard sound fx from my chat client a minute later.
reset, got back in, turned off all effects, switched to full screen and things got alot smoother even though brackets were on. turned off brackets and made the combat jump. notmal traffic control for a min or so, then i showed up in the system in an e-warp position, not warping but just sitting. warped into combat, locked up targets and started launching missiles.
my launchers started up right away but they would not stop, it would take 4-5 cycles of flashing red before i could start them on a new target. throughout the entire combat i only got off 10 salvos.
was fun except for my video card melting. maybe in the future suggest that people turn off brackets/effects sooner then just before combat? where is the petition option for a new video card? |

* First jump-in was quite laggy, about 2 minutes before actually jumping. Once system changed, gridload was quite fast. Module lag in the last part was a lot less than on tranquility. Usually have to wait a while before everything cycles (I had auto-repeat off) but in this fight all guns just auto-stopped after 1 cycle, didnt even have to do anything manually. Overall certainly more enjoyable than comparable fights on TQ, still not optimal though.

Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------ It was a good reproduction of Lag occuring in Large Fleet Battle though with less lag : - Jumping in : there was ~ 3/4 minutes delay ... Could be 10/20 minutes with 800+ players in local dest. - Cycling guns : must set autorepeat off and manually cycle guns (like on TQ), and it works - Module activation and Targetting delays : I usually experience 5 to 10 minutes lag on TQ (800+ players in local), only 30s to 1 minute there --- Eve Ship Identity - Sharing, Analyzing and Fingerprinting Ship's setups |

We're now at the end of the week after the next week. 13 days after you posted the statement quoted above.
Just look at this thread: 10 pages of players delivering the data you requested. Many more participating in the tests you designed / held. And you don't even deliver the test results you said you would deliver.
Sadly this also reflects the progress of these tests: 5 months and no improvement on the production system.
Look how you wasted all this time of your playerbase.

Howdy folks,
We've collected all feedback up to this point.
I'd like to apologize for not getting the reports out yet. I'll be honest here and say that I'd gotten tied up with looking into post-deployment issues for Tyrannis and simply haven't had a chance to finish them yet. This is currently #2 on my to-do list and reports for all tests, up to and including the one on the 29th, should be out this week, or next Monday at the latest.

Again, I apologize for not getting these reports posted sooner. This was entirely on me, and for various reasons I dropped the ball. Rest assured though that I will endeavor to be more on top of getting these reports out to you folks in a timely fashion.

For the test on the 22nd June please also give feedback for the performance of the overview, the fleet window and the brackets. If you have tried it with and without brackets, this info will be great. Feel free to use the scale from 1-10 for the overview and the fleet window.

Edited by: Qino on 22/06/2010 21:15:25 Just finished test on June 22 OS Win 7 - 64 bit cpu i7-920 GPU GTX 275 Ram 6GB
Audio on Brackets on for the fight
1st test I can recall since the last max skill day, was pretty good with almost 200 in local. Black screen after the mass jump lasted about 10 sec then cleared and screen and overview loaded. Lag with brackets-w/o brackets wasn't noticible, but once the fight started fps dropped to less than 10 and sometimes dipped to zero.
All in all not bad and TY to the carrier that saved me from getting popped early

Client froze when the overview was being populated and depopulated. Other than that, a very smooth experience. Overview jittered about a lot, hard to target people at times - but that's expected. Would be nice to be able to target people from broadcasts. ---

Desync: slight bit when aproaching gate but not large amount Scale: 9. First actual fun fleet fight I've been in. Not laggy at all without the brackets, both alts running well. Great job!
Describe: Grid loading was slow at first, ended up 1mil km from gate, warped both characters in. Brackets were on at first and the FPS was terrible. Turned all brackets off for both accounts and FPS went straight to 50 on both. Yes had audio enabled, on fleet chat audio and had EVE music playing. brackets where turned on and off as instructed. FPS averaged 70 before combat and dropped to aprox 3 during combat only desync when warped away after being DD by 3 titans to get another ship. Performance was a 7, generally better than TQ though a smaller fleet than what I'm used too.
publicize earlier to get more input from the EVE community, make fleet fights longer and the jumping around shorter as that appears to be where most lag is and where has that POS seige gone? if you ever find yourself in a fair fight, you screwed up somewhere |

Experience: i have audio on and that was a little spotty, still overall great coms.,i had Brakets on one tab and not on the other. with them on, my fps shot up to 325, off they went down to 60-30fps. i had a point when the fight started my fps was at 1.4. I had 2 desyncs on this test. i was jumping and the other was during the fight when i switched to and from the brakets. over all, i felt that this esperince was a 6.5 for being my first one. i did find that the chat windows that i had up were overlaping the words all the time every time i changed windows. that was a problem for me becuase iu couldnt read what the other players were typing.
Comments/seggestions: overall it was good, but the lag still is an issue. i know 2 corps that do 100+ fights and going off that number i think that the bandwidth between servers would help with this lag problem{to help with node to node transfer}. try to improve the chat windows so that they dont over lap. and thats it.
