Edited by: Ragana Canidae on 23/02/2010 16:11:07 As far as EVE goes, im fresh off the chopping block. My total play-time for the game is probably less then a month. While I never experienced PvP, even before I started playing, I knew I wanted to participate in piracy. What I did not know is how touchy the subject is and how frowned down upon it actually is within the community.
People have actually gotten hostile with me once I brought up the subject so I figured I would ask here on the forums.
A bit about my EVE character:
Current skills: 62 (skill points: 2,687,968) All learning skills at least 4 (some 5) I was told to focus on missiles, so the majority of those skills are higher. Engineering 5 and Electronics at 4
Those are the highlights per-say. If you contact me in-game I can give you whatever information is necessary. I am a quick learner and piracy is something I honestly want to do. If you feel generous enough to show me the ropes, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Tomas

I'd recommend either Red vs Blue (Church and Griff pwn! wait, wrong RvB :P ) or Agony Unleashed if you're looking for pure PVP training.
RvB is just a general pew pew all the time, while Agony Unleashed holds PvP classes and PvP operations.

Don't mind the very vocal minority, piracy is A-OK.

not only the pvp you will be in will be boring but your gang will be full of noobs like you , and fail
the lovely thing about tarnak is that we have around 10 directors that can assit in teaching , most of them ex-trium , outbreak or invicta . so we know how to do things
invitation is open for other noobs reading this , don't know how long the doors will be open but atm there is space for new students , so hurry up!

Edited by: Benri Konpaku on 23/02/2010 21:34:56 OP don't let the fact that you are about to become a bottom feeder (in some people's view) phase you. But embrace it instead.
After all PvP in EVE is about emo-rage and whining tears.
Carebears will cry and whine when you destroy their sandcastles, and pewpewbears (ppbears?) will cry and whine when you negate their pewpew using game mechanics instead of firepower or a bigger fleet, among other things. And let me tell you, both kinds of tears are equally sweet. |

I started this game through piracy and it really built a base for how to pvp and led me to 0.0. My advice is to get yourself a few cheap frigates and go scan around in systems like tama, old man star, and amamake. You will die lots and get frustrated, but you also might catch a few newbs ratting around etc. What's important is that you think about why you died every time that you do. That way, you're constantly learning how to handle pvp. Eventually, you'll be able to participate within a pirate corp and get a few roams under your belt. It's important that you're patient and learn slowly. Eve is a game of experience, and there's a lot to learn. The fundamental skills you learn through solo piracy will make a huge difference.

Get yourself into Eve Uni, get on as many fleet ops as you can, maybe even take some out yourself. Then you can move on and join a large pirating corp. Eve Uni is usually held in pretty high regard by most corps.
