I have Win7 and am having severe issues loading the client. I have the right graphics, etc. I have reloaded the client 7 times. It worked 2x but the next day it stopped. It says :"Eve file is damaged, modified, etc. Please reload."
I reload and IF it takes it's usually within a day or so it says that message when trying to open client. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
I have done these things so far: Re-installed client 7x Have correct componets to run it HD space has plenty

have you tried running a virus scan as it looks like something is changing a client file which will cause the client to report that message

Have you tried running the repair tool or downloading the installer again on a different disk and run it from there?
Because your problem sounds very much like it could be a corrupt installation/installer. |

Ick, that's quite annoying.
I've been running EVE on 64-bit Windows 7 for a few months now, and I haven't had any trouble with it. In fact, it's running smoother than ever. Sowwy, wish I could help you.

Ok, like many others, windows 7 has worked well for me with less problems then any other OS..
Anyway, sounds like you've got a conflict with a driver or something that EVE uses. Don't have a Creative Labs Sound card do you? I'm sure you've done this, but make sure all your drivers are updated before running EVE, as well as other major PC items, keyboards, mice, and with EVE's case make sure your browser items like JAVA, Flash and that mess are up to date as well.
You may have to go as far as deactivating devices, switching components, or uninstalling other programs to track down the root of the issue. I've had instances in the past (pre windows 7). That the unlikeliest (sp?) item can @#$%^ up everything. (Creative Labs I hate you FYI). Even had keyboards do this, not the driver... the keyboard itself, swtiched it out and programs stopped goofing up... don't know why, but it worked.

I run win7 ultimate 64 and had a slight problem after installing another program after I had installed eve, it somehow installed to the same location as eve and the files got mixed together causing neither program to run.
Something to do with win7's default download and install location and the fact that (for me at least) it didn't seem to create folders for new installs to be placed. It dl'd and installed both progs onto the windows partition I had created on my hd (my fault for not checking). To fix this I had to create an 'eve' folder on the blank partition of my hd and dl'd + installed directly there.
Probably not whats wrong with your install but it might be worth taking a quick look on your hd just in case.
