I am havinga nightmare with getting eve installed. I have the correct computer requirements and am using Win 7. When I install I get this message:
Validation Failed. Expected Chesum is 34b420b71ec6a84676ab347b6aa9b72 but was 7a972405cdfd864be360b194ff67c7238
Then it says to try downloading offline version of the eve client. When I do and I load it it ends and says corupted files, damaged, or modified files. Reinstall.
I have run a virus sweep, all clr, I installed DX9, and am still getting the same stuff. So, Does anyone know what I can do to fix it? I would serioulsy appreciate it! Thanks for your help.

Checksum error means the file is corrupted. Try defragmenting your harddrive for all it's worth, then download the client again.

If that dosen't work, try getting a friend to download the client onto a USB stick for you.

Defrag won't do much. Scandisk at least, turn off memory-resident AV programs temporarily while downloading and installing Eve, make sure you've got plenty of disk space free for the download etc.
Also, copying an install from another machine works fine.
And if all else fails, just download it from Steam. It's the same client, just grab the 14 day trial version since it's free to download. |

I would recommend to remove the temporary files.
Just press Windows Key + R and then type: %temp%
Remove all files from the folder. In some cases Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware has caused problems with the download, resulting in corrupted files.

Failed check sum = incomplete/corrupted download. Re-download the client installer, or get a friend to download it for you.
Alternatively, if you have RL friends who play Eve, just copy their Eve install directory (C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE by default, I think), and that should work.

You can also try using an download manager like flashget or downthemall(firefox), to avoid packets from getting destroyed by a faulty connection.

This.
Along with clearing temps (ccleaner.com), the hard drive/file system is corrupting the file.
Never got the misfortune to use Vista and haven't got 7 yet, but I would think the following works for them and not just XP -- from MS-DOS prompt:
scandisk c: /f /v /x
and reboot if it prompts you.
