Hello
(RP/fiction nublet incoming)
I am delving into the world of blogging and plan to inject a few light RP style posts in the form of a pilots log - I assume that I could make up any old number for the log but I did wonder if there was a specific format used for the Eve calender?

my local date and time in EVE format at time of posting is YC112.03.04.00.12
that's year>month>day>hour>minute.
hours, days, weeks, months and years identical to ours in every way, except that the year number for 2010 is 112 in New Eden.
The time convention was set up at the Yoiul Conference (hence YC) aboard a Jovian Cruiser 112 years ago as described in this chronicle. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

That piece of fiction was posted in 2001. If I remember correctly, the year when EVE was launched was supposedly 111, which would make today 118.

Year of Eve's launch was YC 105. Year of the begining of the Empyrian Age war was YC 110.

Edited by: Stitcher on 06/03/2010 03:39:34 just going to confirm what the other two have said. The year of EVE's launch was YC105, not YC111 (which was 2009). The chronicle lists YC111 as the present year because it was last updated during the first batch of PF updates last year.
I appreciate your wanting to correct me, but I find that it's always worth double-checking you have your own facts straight before you correct somebody. It saves you from looking silly if it turns out that they were right the first time. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |
