Simple question: If you were the sole person who chose all the changes in eve, what would the top 5 changes you'd make be and why?
Me: -Remove the nano nerf -Nerf Dramiel -Increase level 3 and level 4 mission rewards by 100% -Put bounties in level 5 missions -Make nighthawk a t2 drake instead of t2 ferox.
I know removing the nano nerf and nerfing dramiel seem contradictory, but I would make it so its possible for the dramiel to be caught.

i know it would take a long time to reskin a drake model for a t2 variant but its worth it imo.

1) Add addressbook & bookmarks owned by corps & alliances, administered by roles 2) ANY of the very many suggested ideas to fix the bounty system. 3) Make it so that if someone is partially scrambled, but still manages to warp, they warp-to-15, not 0. 4) Move all l4s to 0.4 or lower 5) Cut all meta 0 loot & reduce reprocessing to 10% of current efficiency

1. Remove learning skills=P 2. remove sov mechanics 3. Change warp engines to a BSG style jump engine (that has a cooldown timer between jumps) 4. Make it possible to use these bsg style jump engines 'through' jump gates, allowing you to target locations in adjacent systems, bypassing gates (no more space chokepoints) 5. make it faster and easier to probe people down, who cant just warp off if they've just jumped into a system because they are on cooldown. 6. Add a more meaningful POS system where warfare is based more on controlling valuable locations within a system than just fighting over a bunch of empty space with some stuff inside of it.

1. Introduce the Millenium Falcon 2. Bring in that /feed me command they use in WoW to order a pizza irl. But it would be for ordering Beer/Wine instead. 3. Remove the god awfull camo paint job from the navy domi/mega. 4. Ensure that bar fights and dirty dancing make it into walking in stations. 5. Give myself lots of cool stuff and laugh at poor people.

I would nerf all the things that negatively affect my playstyle and boost all the things that benefit my playstyle, regardless of the reasons of why they're there and the people it affects.
That said: - more anti-blob features on smaller ships (chain overload on remote reppers, AOE affects, etc.) - decrease all ship hp values by 75% - make manufacturing have an attribute called 'quality' so that goods of the same type can have different stats (and thus able to brand name your goods) - reduce the number of ships in level 4 missions by 75%, but increase each ship's bounty and combat capability accordingly - enable guerilla tactics to take out sov (like planting bombs inside jettisoned cargo)

1. Hire a really awesome UI design expert and commit time to fixing the UI in the next expansion. Focus especially on industry and market UIs (but please don't neglect my kill people UIs!) 2. Fully integrate Eve with existing technologies - chat channels (like corp/alliance/publics/etc) would all operate from a CCP IRC server and evemail (incl corp/alliance/etc) would all operate from a CCP email server. It would be disconnected from external email - though perhaps you might elect to get your evemail forwarded to your personal email account. Finish Eve-Gate, because it sounds like an awesome idea. The intention here is to facilitate communication with people that are not currently logged into Eve. 3. Remove the ship tier system entirely - it unnecessarily gimps ships without a good reason. This is especially frustrating when the lower tier ships have roles that aren't replicated at a higher tier. 4. Rework mining and industry such that it wasn't such a drag to work with. Also, missioning for an empire should mean that you have declared your support for that empire - and you are now a viable militia target.
Other things I'd like to see: - Rebalance rigs such that their penalties are related to their bonus - like hybrid rigs might become +dmg/-rof or +optimal/-falloff instead of +dmg/+pg usage and +optimal/+pg usage. This would make the rig skills much more important than they are now. - Move towards a system where there are T1/T2/T3 subsystems and that each Tech level of ship can use subsystems from all classes its tech level and below. I think it'd be ideal if the ship hulls maintained some base features that they currently have. - Make black ops not so short ranged (jump/bridge range) or not so crappy at actual combat. - Consider making all ships have jump drives (or a purchasable module?) that can be operated without a cyno on the other end. You end up somewhere random in the target system. Stargates still exist and are free. - Make a class of freighters that can operate as strong battleships - but lack maneuverability etc of a BS. They're still freighters (with smallish cargo holds), but have some teeth. Idealy, they might have the same ship class name and appearance as T1/T2 freighters.
The top 6 are definitely more pressing than the others.

1)replace local with a proper intel system 2)add more combat agents for the missionbears but make quality and other rewards depend on relative use 3)add more anti-blob weapons and tactics; push for diversified fleet setups and tactics over longrange fleetBS and calling primaries 4)do something with lowsec. pseudo-sov to encourage longterm control or similar 5)playermade UI modifications, all mods are public and hosted/verified by CCP

Caught one tonight - suspect pilot was half asleep or stoned though.
That said, I liked it when nano's were in game - I had my fair share of both sides of the nano-stick but, on balance, I preferred the frenzied high-speed gameplay it could offer - eve seems like slow-mo now in comparison. (but then, I was one of the lucky buggers that could afford pollies).
I'd also roll back to just pre-dominion, mainly because fleet fights were so sorted then - I dunno what they did, but they had lag sorted and since Dominion we've gone backwards in that regard.
The main thing I'd change is I'd un-nerf the probing system - before the patch where current probing system was implemented I could catch isk-farmers, now I can't because the probing system of physically manouevring the probes is too clunky - moving probes in three-dimensional planes using a two-dimensional interface is really not working that well tbh.

1) I would remove the 3d models and replace them with MS paint art limiting design time to 20 seconds each ship. 2) all ships would shoot gumballs. 3) security status of empire space would be set to random. Imagine Jita being a 1.0 then a .4 the next day. Also imagine the emo tears when someone with low security status undocks in a pimp ship from their home station only to find concord waiting. 4) I would have an I win button. 5) you wouldn't.

- Remove warp to zero in 0.0 - Allow warp to 15 in 0.0 where sov is held by non-NPC Corp/Alliance - Allow warp to 5 in 0.4 thru 0.1 - Allow warp to zero in empire - Remove bookmarks - Remove meta 2 and 3 items - Make it cost a fee weekly for having anyone blue outside of your alliance. - Make alliances with over 1000 people in it a Mega-Corp which pays different tariffs - Make 'aiding and abetting / harboring' people agressed transfer the aggression to you (no docking / n00b alt remote boosting without consequence). - 100% of stations are kick out - removal of local is a SOV upgrade in 0.0 for entities that hold space (Sure, you want no local, you pay to have that veil) only. See how many people 'actually' want this rather than want to just have it work in their favor during roams. - Have some feedback that your client received the input from the mouse so I don't have to click like a crazy cat women to get my ship to move. - 1/2 or 1/4 hit points on all ships/structures, do NOT nerf the guns/missiles. This is the biggest reason WHY you need to bring 1000 people into a system to get something done.
Too many other ideas, but all them based on not going backwards without there being a counter weight.

No, you know what, if I could change one thing about eve, I'd bring back Ctrl + F9 removes UI and brackets then right click -> "Reset camera" shows brackets but not UI. It was so freaking useful for filming.

Which one? There were like 3 of them.
There was the nano nerf which introduced stacking penalties on nano mods there was the nano nerf which removed the speed bonus on nanofibers There was the nano nerf which caused mwd's to be shut down by scramblers And now that I think about it, there were probably a few others. I seem to recall there was a time when CCP reduced the speed of several ships so that they couldn't be nanofit for a speed tank.

1. Exploding ship will deal damage withing a certain radius 2. Docking will cost you isk/minute 3. Right Click in local, wtz 4. After podding someone, the pilot will be ejected in his space suit, he then have to swim to the nearest station 5. Corpse launcher

1) get rid of all stargate travel, and, instead, introduce jump drives for all ships, small for frigs, med for cruisers, large for BS through caps,etc, with jump ranges to some matching scale.
2)a galactic navigation system. What I mean is, you have to use a starmap, you need to calculate your jumps, etc..I propose that how far you can jump is cap-dependent in some way. also, skills to increase the precision of your jumps. need an element of randomness here.
3)atmospheric anomalies. we have some of this with W-space, we need more. I want to see effects that can pull you out of jump, black holes, etc.
4) remove learning skills, they are ****ing pointless.
5)fleet formations.

I for one wouldnt have removed the nano nerf I would have put more tools to counter it, unfourtunatly countering something that powerful would have almost required redoing the game from ground up, make a gun track too well and frigates lose thier advantage and of course outflying missiles is a bad thing.
Not sure whats wrong with the dramiel its a faction ship last I checked and im pertty sure they rerolled it inline with its cousins.
I would furhter nerf lvl 3 and 4 missions by removing all tech 1 loot ammo included without compensation for lost items on loot table (in other words less gear drops overall) meta level items will still drop. This may boost industrialsts making this game more depended on players.
I would also revamp the mission engine to allow for more than just kill and mail man that may take more thinking to get done including having neutral and friendly npcs showing up (and different colored)
Introduce a new line of tech 2 battlecruisers featuring the tier 2 hulls instead of hasing and being lazy with the old ones.

Poast is eve forum speak for crap posting. As far as a sentence that 'flows' corectly blame my automatic grammar killer plugin that randomly misspells and screws up the syntax of my poasting for the sole reason of ****ing off a specific mindset.

I would make one single change. I'd do away with the current avionic and weapon controls (point and click) and replace them with Freelancer style gameplay, where you get to manouver and aim your own ship and guns. I'd marry this game if that ever happened. |

and probably level 1 and 2 missions should either be exempted, or some standings level exemption, or maybe just in heavily policed systems.
although I think I'd rather see some incremental sliders on ships rather than rig/subsystem everything. drop some armor add some shield, drop the pg a bit add some cpu. take 25m3 off the drone bay and add some more thrusters. and perfect!
subsystems are kinda meh. pretty much every stat but slot layout is only affected by 1 subsystem I think.
and not really a fan of the jumpdrive for everyone.

All t1 ships use subsystems. Note! This means removal of tier system, etc.
All ships have a stardrive.... Make gates more scarce. Allow for 'cut off' systems.. That people with a long enough drive can jump to. Ships land somewhere within 1 au of the sun. Cynos can be used to direct ships to a specific point. Also, increase cyno fitting cost. No more cyno kessies.. Ideally, a battleship only module.. and even then you should need to make sacrifices. Imagine you placing a giant supercomputer on your ship to relay jump parameters. Force recon ships maintain special abilities regarding cyno (+fitting boost. No sacrifice, other than the highslot, should be needed)
Remove local as an intel tool. Covert ops ships(ONLY) with a probe hit on a target get corp info of ship, 4 probes gives character. Or something suitable to replace..
Boost nullsec ratting, either through harder rats+more bounties, or something like an NPC pos

- recons also give a bonus to cap/fuel cost of ship jumping too them.
- Make concord ships responsible for dealing with -5 sec people in empire.
- Fix insurance, either remove or have some sort of ratting so if you lose ships all the time your insurance cost goes up, or make insurance payout based on the price of the ship today.
- Move the god damn fake ladar (gas cloud) hacking sites back to radar where they belong.

1 - Boost boosters. make more types of boosters (4th/5th slot), make the gas clouds more available or last longer and let sovereingty upgrades increase the number/chance of ladar sites in system. remove the restriction's to fitting reactors on med pos. Add an addiction to boosters that can be held off by using regular drugs, make it possible to produce the regular drugs through planetary interaction.
2 - Rework minmatar flexibility. Make it so we are flexible as a race not just have individual ships with flexibility. Allow us to have ships that perform well in their designed function instead of having to rely on flexibility, dps or nano to make them balanced with their counterparts. Let the minmatar cepters and alpha bs really shine compared to their counterparts not have trouble working out which is faster/biger alpha.
3 - Change 0.0 in 3 steps. Add 3 levels to system sovereignty that determine what upgrades are allowed how much it costs per month and how much infrastructure there is. Create structres that greatly reduce the maintanance cost but can be destroyed, make them customizable with minor defenses and capable of up to double efficiency so you only need half of them from a day to reduce the cost (to allow TZ wars). Also add some minor defense structures, objects, bonuses, fighters or something to help locals defend. Give bonuses for having nearby blue systems; able to transfer over excess if a system had it's maintanance cost reducing structures destroyed, send over defense structures if contested, require more SBU's to be setup if the neighbouring system is blue.
4 - Make mining more interactive and fun. Make the roids much bigger, but comprised of 3 levels common (veld etc.) uncommon (jaspet etc.) rare (ark etc.) so you could have 3 + ores in a single roid. To find the unco/rare ores you'd need to scan the asteroid first, small chance that if the roid has lots of a particular type it would be visable from outside. Mining 1 of the types would cause damage/destroy the other layers and for unco/rare would bring in some of the upper layers, increase of value of rare/unco ores to compensate. Empire would remain pretty much the same so empire still is afk mining low/0.0 is pay attention and scan mining.
5 - Add more randomness. named items no longer scale linear each meta level specializes in a different aspect (eg. range, dmg, rof, cpu). Mineral costs no longer scale linearly. For example proj weapons/ammo, nano equipment etc. require more of the minerals you can find in minmatar space. Or some items just require more high end minerals such as advanced electronics or armour plates take lots of noxc etc. (yeah I don't know anything about economics but I think this would be more interesting) POS no longer scale linearly. small are good for outposts; harvesting, storage, jump bridges. med are good for operations; labs, reactors, factories. large are deathstars; pew pew.

Introduce T1 construction components for T1 ships and modules, to add another layer of production and diversity to the current S&I. They'd have the same material cost in the end, but allows for a little more diversity in what you can produce.
Revamp Mining to make a lot more user interactive, kinda like how that was done with scanning.
Make scanning harder, although the old system had its flaws and took forever, atleast it required skill and patience. In the new system a 3 day old character could probably scan down most of the sites in a matter of minutes. The skill difference in what you can find and fast you can find it should be bigger.
Revamp the tracking formula and how it correlates to damage. As long as the target's transversal is at or below your gun's tracking, it should recieve no penalty in hitting the target.
Fix rockets, up the damage a little and modify the explosion radius/velocity to do significant damage to Frigs and full damage to anything above.
Take a good long look at ships such as the Hyperion, Prophecy, Retribution and the Myrmidon a little as well, they all fill roles that other ships can generally do far better.
Some ships also need a little stat change, such as the Cyclone needing a CPU boost so you can fit a Large Shield Booster and setup without having to use a CPU enhancer.
Buff the Legion, it is outclassed in just about everything by the other T3 cruisers, it could use a small dronebay (Amarr are the 2nd most drone-using race) from a few subsystems and another turret slot would help it deal a little more damage.
Fix sound, it was far more reliable in the old sound engine. Fit a bunch of Electron Blasters to a Ferox or Brutix, fire them one by one and start counting how many shots are not being heard.
Exploration ships, there are plenty of suggestions for them, pick one.

Tinker heavily to make the netcode more efficient.
Remove all T1 loot drops. Change meta drops (inc. faction/officer/T2) into wrecked modules; functionally similar to a BPC.
Implement my missile backend idea.
Replace bounty system with 'kill contracts'.
Fix lolkets (x4 explosion velocity, x1.6 explosion radius, tiny bit extra flight time).
Reduce Dramel speed a bit.
4th skill bonus for AFs.
Nerf pulse laser range slightly.
Boost blaster tracking, also slightly.
Change Ibis to have one missile, one turret (civilian missile launcher \o/).
Alter sov mechanics to split up the blob (require hitting and defending multiple points at once to take or hold sov).
Change ECM mechanics to fixed-interval instead of by chance. (Cumulate jam strength until greater than target sensor strength, jam and reset count. Half ECM strength.)
Boost sensor dampeners a bunch, but whack hard with stacking penalties.
Reduce NPCs in missions by 75%, boost their damage output 90%, improve tank 60% (but make them vulnerable to neuts), remove 'cheating' locking range.
Boost target painters.
Increase destroyers' HPs.
Increase PG for cormorant (a little), catalyst (****ton), and coercer (decent buff).
Change catalyst optimal bonus for hybrid damage.
Improve capacitor slightly for the hyperion.
Add Thukker tribe faction destroyer; salvager and tractor bonuses.
Redesign rookie ships for more room to experiment; nerf base stats to oblivion but give much CPU+PG+slots (still only two weapon-bearing highs).

If I designed Eve, I would:
1. grow the effective galaxy size by nerfing all forms of travel.
2. make anti-piracy viable in low-sec by allowing people to gain security status for shooting pirates under certain circumstances.
3. have CCP appoint who belongs in the CSM rather than a democratic player vote, since most of the players don't care about the CSM, never have and never will.
4. remove killmails, but keep lossmails, to put all the killboard e-peening to rest once and for all.
5. improve overall standards of forum behaviour by making a script that would silently and automatically ban anyone who ever uses certain words or phrases in their posts. The key to success here would be that CCP never discloses what the exact list of offending words/phrases are; but as examples it would include things like "confirming that", "x/10" and pretty much every meme ever borrowed from SA and 4chan.

Local stored bookmarks are very likely to be "manipulated". Imagine some creating deepwarp safespots with 3rd party "tools" or warpin for the vaga 300km away with a hack. Fleet ops in 0.0 would be much fun when 100 bs have to approach 30km every jump <.<

L4 Mission hubs could very well find rat fleets complete with capitals roaming planets and moons, attacking anyone with low enough standing. On bad days, they could even camp stations. Huge risk / reward scenario.
