It's true. 7 lows + 8 guns > 6 lows + 6 guns X 25% damage bonus.

On battleships:
If you only care about the first shot, anything that can fit 8x 1400MM (ie Apoc, etc)
If you want identical volley, but want to shoot more than once every 30 seconds, go Maelstrom and get a ROF bonus.
Tempest can drive out more 'one shot' damage than either of the above - if you use your 2x utility highs for missile/torp fire - but that might not be what you are looking for, due to missile flight time or range issues.

mael.... technically the same volly as any 8 turret BS (8x1400mm arty and 4 gyros), but with the ROF bonus you actually stand a chance of the 2nd volly going off before they warp off
BC 'cane with 720's and 4x gyro
Ruppy with 720's and 4x gyro (notice a pattern)
also: try the muninn out iirc it gets more volly at greater range then the cane

hahaha is it bad if i just EFT warriored a 1.1k dps officer fit artillery machariel? lol i kinda loled at it but it has 16.5k volley

Logistic cruisers have ridiculous low signature radius and have the bad habbit of always keeping mobile.
So add to your recipe of big guns and damage mods: faction ammo and lotsa tracking comps with tracking scripts.
