Edited by: Lialem on 11/03/2010 01:49:23 Rare mineral-planets should be in 0.0 NPC space and not sovereignty space. If you put them in sov space then most planets will be safe heavens and that means less battles for dust players. Put rare planets on npc space where anyone can go and attack them.

But, if you put them in 0.0, the alliances will get fat and it will bork up that aspect of eve, moon goo is a good example of this.
Also, some alliances will not let members use planets as they will probably want them for themselves. So that takes a massive portion of those resources out of the equation.
What will probably happen is high ends will be in low sec in the vain hope it will get more peeps there for PVP. On the other hand, there could just be an equal distribution in all sec space and regions (which is doubtful)

did you forget all of the high sec planets where the most competition will be happening with dust players? the npc 0.0 thing wont work simply because rather then fighting on the planets there will be fighter over getting into the system

it will be evenly distrbuted my guess is wormhole and 00 space in some random locations will have higher resource levels. its designed to spread the player base out , so please to ccp dont favour the fatcat 00 alliances on this one, they can always have alts in low sec and empire anyway looking for those richer viens Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

I'm in favour of entirely random distribution.
The high population areas will get mined out fast, opening up exploration/prospecting for forgotten rare planets in the unknowns.

i support the random placement, there are only so many empire planets, ccp needs to encourage movement around populations in wormholes and unused 00 areas so its a good idea, makes low sec more attractive to Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

"good" highsec deposits can be balanced out somewhat by
1. competition, this will happen automatically and produce diminhishing returns
2. taxes, the npc empire should just take a sizable chunk of the production (more in high then in low sec) making 0.0 more profitable due to no/customizable taxes but preventing a 0.0 monoploly on items

This will do it. Valuable resources will be found and word will get out, those places will be swamped, wars will be started, ganks will happen. A planet with the potential of 1 Bil a week isnĘt much when shared with 1000 people. Get them all shooting each other and well ą

No, even "almost decent" highsec earthgoo is going to end as badly as highsec mining compared to lowsec mining.

This is a great game, because ccp made it and continue to make it, not random forum 'players'.

well dont forget wormhole systems off empire will also be fair game, lots of empty wormholes might now be populated more just for the farming opportunities. So many opportunities remembering most non ice pos fuels will now require planet manfacutre adding another element. IM guessing certain planets byproducts will go to other planet types for more refining ( ie oxygem will be required on gas planets from ice and ocean and terran planets) to enable the colonies on gas and lava planets to function so it will be a planet produce sink. But hte lava planet will produce valuable ores further along the chain
Where ccp mentioned wormhole planets were at risk there u go supplies might be hard to acqauire more logistics to keep chains going but easier to get materials
Wormhole planets might have the best supplies encouraging further spread Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

You don't need to attack anything. So it doesn't matter if they put it into 1.0 or 0.0 at all. _________________________ EveAI.Live - The EVE-Online API/class library for .Net, C# and VB.Net |

Yeah cus real men stare at empty space for three hours kill shuttles and pods. Unless your totally wasting you life and your time you can't be considered "hardcore", right?.
Eve is a game you witless dullard, more targets and fighting is a good thing. Now carry on with your tutorial missions you might learn something.
I got empty space to stare at.

-You do not know where somebody does PI. -You cannot get to the location of pickup. -You can get your PI stuff ANY time YOU want. -You (currently) could even "haul" with an extremely fast cloaking ship. So yes, there is a little difference, but it's not that big. _________________________ EveAI.Live - The EVE-Online API/class library for .Net, C# and VB.Net |
