MW2: Most aggravating game ever?

Those little pricks who design all their perks so they can blitz your base as fast as possible and knife everyone/spray bullets from a bullet hose. Sniper *s. Teammates who won't SCORE THE FING FLAG in CTF. Campers. Claymores in every other doorway. That thing where you check every angle of a door for campers, see nothing on UAV, take two steps out the doorway and someone dashes around a corner behind you and shoots you in the back. Enemies that camp your base in an objective game to **** kills and refuse to touch your flag or plant the bomb. And so on. More often than not, I find myself ending a session of CoD MW2 by tossing my controller away in frustration in the middle of a game and shutting all my stuff off. It's just not fun. I'm not bad at the game (played plenty of the original MW for a long while), but it seems like the only way to get ahead in this game is to sit in one spot inside a building (to avoid predators/attack choppers/harriers/chopper gunners/ac-130s/snipers) until someone runs by. Then run off to a new campsite before they come back and toss some semtex in there. God, the semtex. I'm afraid at this rate, my MW2 disk may go the same way as my old Guitar Hero III disk - i.e. pocket-knifed to a pointless degree. After a little bit, it just stops being fun. I can't be the only person who feels this way - the gameplay just seems a bit gimmicky and the only motivation to continue is so you can unlock that next gun or weapon attachment (which you'll use to unlock the next one, coincidentally). And yet it's one of the most popular games ever. Go figure. Personally, I feel like I'd need to be on crack and using surround sound speakers to notice every little bastard running up at 20 mph with a knife, every guy sitting with the tip of his head sticking out for the entire game, waiting to snipe you. It's just obnoxious. Agree or disagree?

And the spawn camping that comes with them (along with the inability to choose your spawn location.) But seriously, let's all strafe side to side and use sniper rifles in a map the size of someone's front lawn! What a fantastic arcade replication of how wars are fought today! Oh neat, I shot that guy in the head. Blood squirted out of it. But what's this? He's still alive and shooting me? I'm wounded and...dead!? Man. Warfare in these modern times is crrrazy. What a stupid f***ing game.

Just about to unlock the MG36 as Medic, this thing was a bit OP in Bc1, hopefully it's still good but not as insane. That said I prefer the MG3 which is the final unlock as Medic. Done Engineer, on last unlock for Assault but not even a third into Recon yet.

The headbobbing snipers fare far less better than the campers against the tools to flush em out because most of the time they never notice. Objective camping has been in every shooter I ever played in. If you think what you have mentioned is bad wait until you run into the c4 faceplanter where he purposely tosses a c4 in your gun fire direction. THEN I found out that not all gun upgrades are actually upgrades, Got my M60, got some other upgrades and it went a lot better. THEN I found Rush and all of a sudden the game changes from "10 headless chickens on each side rushing around like idiots with possibly a clan domination it all" to "w00t, teamwork!". All of a sudden I get great scores (first ever Rush game for me I scored 9900, best is now 15k). Running with the group, healing, rezzing, spotting (just about the only one doing it) and killing, I'm actually "fitted" for my M60, not healing. Still doesn't have the charm of BF:Vietnam and still too much focussed on console ret@rds but I'm having fun now. ----------- I think, therefore I'm single. Want to learn combat/PVP? I love COD Modern Warfare 1 & 2, the singleplayer storyline is great for a FPS imo and the multiplayer is pretty addictive for me. About to go up the street to pick up Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the PS3 and looking forward to it but I will still play COD:MW2 & the first Modern Warfare games now and then. If I want to play an FPS where I am spending time on tactics and using my head more then I would play something like Battlefield 2 or ARMA 2, maybe Operation Flashpoint. If I just want to run around putting holes into other people I will play Modern Warfare 2 or MAG and finally if I want to blow the ** out of everything I see I will play Battlefield Bad Company 2. All great gamesin their own right, all with their own tactics and play style. Also Modern Warfare 1 & 2 both have an awesome single player story, Bad Company 1 had a great storyline too although that was pretty much due to the comedy which was refreshing. Second Edit: Just caught a sniper with a stationary AT because he wasn't paying attention whilst he was trying to scope. Edit: The Rex is terrible.

Was flying it back and forth across an elongated desert conquest map with 2 blackhawks, and the other team got in one, I BARELY dodged a volley of missiles.. my volley hit his ** pit, watched the thing fly straight into a building in a cloud of smoke and flames. calling in helicopter support in MW2, I am the mother **ing helicopter support ________________________________________________ My Music "Commander-Shepard?"

BF2142 is actually very good, because it's not set in a known era you have some weird weapons/options/gadgets but it works very well. Weapons are great especailly if you like HMG's, the support class has a fantastic weapon and options to "dig in" with it's own radar and ammo box. LOVE The unlockable HMG although it takes time to get used to, it's so powerful and the sound carries a long way. Other than all the really low quality aspects of the gameplay (which the cynic in me says were purposeful to create a limited shelf-life for the game) the main irritant for me is the lack of dedicated servers. I mean seriously I have to play some random map with 10 people that apparently are all downloading huge amounts of pron?.... Running through a soup-like lagfest in the worst designed maps that I cant quit from without registering a loss? Cannot set servers to be "no-noob tube" or similar. Lets just say I managed to persistently kill the aim bots some of the folks used because of a silly oversight the bots dont take account for. Also was one of the better pilots on it, 32 kill steak in one of the jump jets i think was one of my highest I remember, still nowhere as bad as my 42 kill streak in Call of duty 2 expansion map with one of the tanks. Anyways in Mod War 2 I managed to get two head shots in a row with a rocket launcher... wasnt really trying for it though it was just pure luck considering that none of the rockets ever fly straight and was only doing it to kill the head bobbing sniper behind the window, and I thought getting a head shot with the underslung grenade launcher was amazing but that made my day today. With the console version of Mod War 2, lag fest games are about one in... 20 games i play. most people who are on got good connections and I dont see even one DBZ person running around and if it is a lag fest the game picks it up fast and finds new host. However I agree PC users are more finiky and need thier localized servers. A joy I may not experince for a very long time based on the simple fact the server farm that owns any local gaming rigs for the stuff dont like my IP or name at all. Slightly Green	Posted - 2010.03.21 10:19:00 - [37] I'm not really an FPS fan. My twitch-skills aren't really up to it... but I did like MW1, mainly for the single player stuff. When I got into multiplayer, I found there was a lot of frustration. Some of it was due to the fact that the lag here is just appalling. Some of it was due to some REALLY irritating mechanics. People who bounce everywhere, for example, because it means they take less damage from explosives just annoy me. "Oh, someone's lobbed a grenade... I'll just skip so it doesn't hurt me." On the whole though, playing with a bunch of friends, and a few ground-rules, and this is a fantastic game, and lots of fun. S. Eve: On the Horizon

I play those games for the single-player only and don't even go online. All you do is run around and shoot people, and who wins is entirely based on who has the fastest connection. It's stupid, boring, and trite. I'll play Unreal Tournament if I wanna frag a bunch of people. On top of that, consoles **ing blow for a FPS. It's what I call the "Halo effect"...something that is so hyped and ridiculously anticipated and every time it's a complete turd. The story in Halo is decent at best, and that's the only good thing I can really say about it. The first game had potential but then I guess the devs chose hype over substance after that. Same goes with these ridiculous frag-fests which could've been games. Here's a clue to all the devs out there: a great single-player game kicks the out of any multiplayer, ESPECIALLY an FPS. Multiplayer should be a bonus, not what the entire game is based around unless it's an MMO. It's time you started focusing on developing games with real substance instead of pandering to the knuckledragging, mouthbreathing ADHD **s who like to shout obscenities at other people on their Xbox 360 because they're too uncoordinated to use a mouse and keyboard. And what's the deal with single player games being so short? How about develop a game that takes at least a week to beat? Anyone remember Operation Flashpoint? That was a cool game for its time, and then they came out with part two, which ended up being a gigantic steaming pile, lasting about 10 hours in total. Oh, but yet again, the multiplayer gets all the attention while the single player gets the shaft. ** multiplayer FPS games. You'll never top what Counter Strike did, so stop trying.
