For a few months now I have a problem with my chat windows. I have them all stacked up and in the order I want them. However, whenever I login to my characters the chat windows are not stacked and in order. They are placed randomly on the screen. I have tried resetting my cache with no luck. Anyone else who had this problem and found a way to fix it?

Lets see the window destack is a known issue though not on the known issue list. Issue since dominion and CCP been very useless in even adressing it. Latest update is:
Hi,
I have closed this petition as we can't give you any further advice on a fix for this. I hope you continue to enjoy EVE.

Sorry forgot the workaround I found. Relog, rinse repeat - usualy sorts after 3 relogs. Also let the web news load on the char selection screen and give it a few seconds after that for good luck.
Also if you log inspace you wont get this problem - though thats based upon others input, cant personaly testify to this.
It's a network related issue - though if you believe CCP, they aint got a clue :(. This is based upon the workaround and my routers loggging. It took CCP 3 months to confess to there own networking/SQL issues so like alot of dominions new bugs they will probably eventualy fix/change them in such a way that they can call it a content patch. Bit like breaking huge fleet fights in one patch and then announcing the fix as a major content patch and then next patch adding some new graphics and breaking it again so your next patch has content . I think thats a joke but I'm not entirly sure.

I experienced the same problem last week when I disabled eve voice. The fix, for me at least, was to enable eve voice again. Needless to say I didn't want to play with eve voice enabled, but it's a minor inconvenience compared to the window unstacking feature.
Hope this helps someone.

Thanks! That worked for me. I had eve voice disabled since I use TS, but after I enabled it the chat windows have stayed in there positions every time I've logged into a character.
Worth a try for anyone having this problem and also has eve voice disabled.

I might give that a go and cheers, how this could effect windows I have no idea but neither do CCP who stil havn't acknowledge d this as a issue formaly - after a 2 month petition been told to ask QA as they the ones that deal with it and I did though another GM locked it so I gave up on the polite approach and the way CCP ignore problems and doing one of two things:
1) made another post http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1286465 after this one got locked http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1285595
2) I'll be there for the mass testing date they have planned to do my own mass testing
