Hey Guys,
This post is about experience, so to all you nay sayers and you know who you are.. PLEASE READ ON YOU MAY LEARN SOMETHING, and if you dont this post wasnt for you anyway - But Grats regardless because you get it even if you dont admit it
I want to endorse experience in all its forms, but loads and loads of it... constant repetition. fight after fight, solo or fleet, high sec and then low sec. War deccers, pirates, fighting in all its forms... They are all worth it!
I know that seems like a simple concept , but to be honest most people dont really understand this basic principle.
Again, you can get this experience a multitude of ways. FACTION WARFARE, Low Sec and 0.0 operations, PVP Universities like AGONY UNLEASHED>>>, and of course my tried and true RED VS BLUE - endless conflict...
When I first went into this corp, I was listening way too much to all the nay sayers, Quote: Oh its not true pVp I mean they dont allow you to use one of your module slots called ECM,, that cant be real PVP? can it???
Here is what I found, most of us are still trying to get the fleet channel down, communicate in proper form, figure out our best transversal velocity modifiers, understand our best DPS combos, realize our true armor or shield tanking potential, set up a great looking overview....
Oh and Whats this sheet called tracking disruptors, target painters and sensor dampenors(believe me you would be surprised how many dont know these small basic principles
You know what the funniest thing about all those aspects of PVP I just mentioned is the fact we are just scratching the surface of all the different skills you need to develop to become a good( thats right I only said good) PVP pilot....
Here's some stuff the nay sayers dont tell you.. first of all RVB uses ECM every day in some context. We are not only at war with ourselves forevor and always -- but we have at the very least 4-5 other corporations who declare war on us each and every week. Well/// ECM is allowed vs War targets in RVB, its also allowed in our low sec and 0.0 Purple ops, and special events agaisnt the nasty red federation as well...
So let me understand something.. You mean RVB uses ECM modules? yes and we always have, every day in a variety of circumstances -- we only chose not use them most of the time vs our evil twin corporation, so that us (ADD) pilots can have more fights and get them together even faster
So here's the point in all this.. Experience does matter, it is the one truly magical element that in itself that can make you a better pilot, without ever training a skill or learning to fly that next greater ship thats in your endless training que... right??
Try it, do it in all its forms -- your experiences make you as a person and a pilot -- Its not always how many skill points you have, but how many life points you've accumalated that really make the difference when all is said and done..
Ask that rifter pilot that soloed the Cruiser and won.. or the small Battleship fleet that took down that epic carrier they will tell you,
Its truly all in that melon of yours!!
If you want this gift called experience, I encourage you to not only consider RVB, but Faction Warfare and Agony Unleashed's PVP University... All of these avenues will lead you to that one award that realy means something.. The one called...
EXPERIENCED PILOT!
Thanks for listening... Orion Shadowmaker

This is a recruitment post with an attempt to hide it by name dropping some other groups.
You should talk more about how one side tends to ship up all the time or how most combat is rigged by FC's so the fights are "balanced".
RVB is simply a live version of test server combat. You guys should simply set up on SiSi and you can all come in big toys without worrying.
I suppose this must be my sig. I'll do something cool with it eventually. |

the forums should have a block/mute option imho.
either that or we should all have a sip of the red and blue koolaid and follow messiah shadowmaker into t1 frigate swarms...
*facepalm*
fake edit: the test server post is actually a good idea... for RvB.

How do you balance war target fights or ops into low sec btw? - i need to learn that trick scouting can only get you so far actually...
I guess all wars in High Sec just dont stack huh?
Experience is your greatest asset guys dont listen to some of these guys they just hope you dont read actually.. Meaning they get easier targets in thier small pirate gank gangs! HE HE

Not trying to bash your post mate, but it honestly looks like this should be split up into two posts. The fact that you have "R-V-B channel for more info..." at the end of you post suggests a veiled R-V-B recruitment post.
I suggest splitting it into two posts, with the R-V-B recruitment crap being posted in the proper forum.

Well feel free to post your link as well, again where does a pilot go that wants more information?
I can assure you we didnt touch every aspect of PVP in this post or the responses...
Please link your site instead of having absolutly nothing of value to share ----
To be honest the only trolls are the ones who cant add any good information to a topic, have no ideas of thier own and just want to bash otehrs for trying!

wrong. all the 'trolls' here had the same idea, you just don't want to listen. post in the proper venue for this stuff. tbh, that this crap has been allowed to go on this long is a failure of the moderators to do their job.

While this isn't specifically a recruitment thread, as it mentions various ways players can gain combat experience, I have removed the channel info listed in the OP. As long as the OP does not attempt recruitment here, the thread can remain.

I agree with Alvaldr, if i didnt put the R-V-B channel in it -- It would have been better -- but it doesnt change the value of it! As I was very fair to all the alternatives...
The fact is Experience in all its forms, will help those players looking for PVP to be better players -- Try FW, try the PVP schools, jump in your ship and fly into low sec, its all good... Just have the courage to do it is all Im really saying

Two things to last poster who again is wasting everyones time by not adding anything of merit - and just trolling...
#1) If you indeed read whole thing and only picked up that we dont use ECM -- then you have serious comprehension problems -- We clearly state we use it, so nough said
#2)If you read whole thing about experience being the number one way to improve your PVP career, and you did not get it???? enough said.....
The trolls that spew all this mess, are the same ones trying to take advantage of you in low sec -- The facts are most PVP pirate's or station camper types dont want anyone to get better at PVP, as it would mess up thier game to have to fight a pilot who can gank back --
You can only get experience one way thats by trying, get out there and do it! Its worth it!!!
-- Follow some of these negative posters to thier corps and join em (that is if they actually do PVP) but do something -- Minning and missions can be fun and they will always have a place inside the Eve universe..
But I cant help but think, some of you are still searching for something different -- EXPLORE -- MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Thanks,
Orion Shadowmaker
PS: Unfortunatly for everyone a post that could really help some pilots improve thier game experience became a spot for jealous trolls to spew thier filth... Go Blues! |

Also worth mentioning...
If you can't at the bare minimum, function at a solo PvP level, you will always be a fairly useless PvPer.
*Learn* how to survive by yourself in hostile situations, learn how to analyze the situation you are in by yourself, learn how to play without hand holding, learn how to fit a ship by yourself... and you'll become a better gangmate as well. *** Currently Playing: Trolls from Outer Space Current Equipment: VISAcard chain mail, +2 Amulet of Epic Whine, Self Banstick +2 WTB: +666 E-peen killboard stats |

Test server RVB wouldn't be good.
RVB is great, I strongly recommend, you have plenty of targets, your eternal enemy Red/Blue, all the corps wardeking and lowsec is not far, plus all the organized OPs. Today Ive been in two, a frigate fight (faction/t2/t1), lots of fun in my lol punisher, got out in very low structure, then I went to the cruiser fight in the same punisher (yes Im pathetic, cant fly cruisers yet) I would guess at least 70 people in it, I learned one lesson, dont attack the ishkur near you
RVB FTW!

Man I really appreciate these latest replies, you guys read through all the negative RVB bashing and understood what the post was about.
Look I know that for some reason we have people that could care less what the post is about, they dont even read it and they spew thier negativity regardless of content just to spite RVB.
But the latest replies show we still have some readers who care about the content. Thats awesome!
The truth is I just want to encourage pilots to break out of their comfort zone. Try out PVP in all its forms its worth it!
You dont have to join RVB, but do something!
Join a PVP university like Agony Unleashed, or try out Faction warfare they have killer battles as well, or simply jump in your ship head into 0.0 and give it a go.
The facts are repetition is what makes you better, Your only going to improve if you get to try something again and again and analyze the results.
I did it, and it changed my EVE life forevor.
Thanks again --
Orion shadowmaker
PS: Im a 4 and half year old character, Ive done wars in deep 0.0 -- Been a pirate in Low Sec, went to Agony's University and finnally found a home in RVB, primarily just because of my RL time constraints, I need quick fights and loads of em when I get the ability to log on -- SO RVB worked for me -- It may be something different for you but try em all!!!! Edited by: Birdman Ravo on 15/03/2010 16:09:48 I left RVB because the wardecs kept coming one after another. Like someone was announcing RVB on the forums over and over and attracting them. Once I saw WTs in my away-from-RVB mission hubs, I realized I couldn't generate the isk to afford PVP anymore.
