The cloak dissapation generator ship.
ok the idea here is. a ship that works like a heavy interdictor, am thinking BC-BS size T2 or T3 probably T2 for ease of design. has a hefty tank no offensive modules or drones, i know your thinking then wtf use it? because it can deploy the cloak dissapator, (high slot module) that requires the ship to be stationary ( like siege mode) and 2000m from gate/station/celestial, the module has a base 300km range boosted by ship spec skill to 450km, while inside this area of effect, all cloaking devices are inopperable. eg, you jump into a camp and thay have a (CDG) ship setup, you go to put your shiny covert ops cloak on and you get a message, due to interferance from ( said device emanating from said persons ship) --- theres the reason for the hefty tank --- also, you have logged in and the enemy alliance are still camping your system luckey for you your in your covert ops/recon so you decide to warp to the gate/pos/station at 100km and see what they are upto, how ever they have a CDG setup and as soon as you come out of warp u get said message and your cloak deactivates. giving you afew seconds if your a descent pilot to escape if not then u get gankd, yay no more pesky covert ops getting past your 1-3 billion isk gate camp,
now the reason for the range. for fleet ops, large scale gate camps, pos sieges, if you have your CDG ship setup the enemy can no longer get a cloakd warp in within any real range to attack, 300 - 450km is too far to snipe, therfore more use for intercptors to gt warpin points and such, of course the cost of such ship would be high and because it has no other purpose, no offensive capability, it is purely a fleet support vessel, because of this not every damn gate camp in eve is going to have one,
just an idea to even the odds again the cloakd menace
BC class ship price 400-500mill BS class ship price 900-1.2 bill
just for referance not a ship you would want to take to your local nullsec entry gate camp with your 4-6 buddies, ship is designed for large alliance fleets to stop coverts getting warpins and bombers, to effectivly secure a system, of course the ship would be the first primary, so vs a fleet of 100+ BS's it would die in 20-30secs, without logi support, then the hostile fleet could run, send in covert ops and get better warpin,
anyway after rambling on, let me know what you think any adaptation or adition to this idea would be welcome.

450km range? hell, 15km would push it, 450 is just plain insanity.
Put such a ship on a gatecamp and nothing will be able to slip through it, basically completely invalidating cloaking as a tactic that already comes with a downturn of reduced combat capabilities. --------

Cloaking has its place, my pilgrim has **** combat capabilities compared to my curse, but that covert cloak makes up for it a thousandfold.

Another thing is when something is sitting in system and you have no way to counter it when it warps to you. But it's not solved with uncloaking modules/probes whatever.
Just having more celestial objects and gas clouds would be better. Just think about current missions, exploration sites or asteroid belts. Everything is arranged pretty clearly. There's no chance to get uncloaked by random meteorite or gas explosion whatever.
Not to mention it would be actually cool if gates had more environment... like buildings etc... everything is usually just in middle of empty space.

we got some gates with gas clouds (nakuguard->hek) and buildings (somewhere between sarekuwa and litiura. I forgot the system name.)
so yes more of that might be fun.

You're reasoning for wanting this is what makes it hard to get any sort of decent proposal through.
boohoo, someone got through your gate camp... it's pathetic enough your are sitting there with "billions" in ISK waiting to alpha anyone as soon as they jump in.
No, you shouldn't have an AoE "I win" hunter. It should involve skill and be training time intensive. It should be a destroyer class and should not be able to do what you want it to do on gates.
You NEED recons and covert ops. You need a way to hunt the hunter. But this idea is just stupid.

1. ship requirment/module req skills to be all science skills to 5 new 10x skills for cloak dissapating 12x ship class skill.
2. am now thinking maybe even cap sized ship is needed to limit access to small gangs with no logistics,
3. ship is purely a hull, with the module working like a subsystem, however bonusses are only granted while the module is active.
4. module would grant bonus to HP's / resistances. ( would be 4 module types ) 1 for each race, each with differant bonusses. ( amarr would grant armour HP's and res // caldari shield HP's res , and possibly shield recharge rate) note ship has no med/low slots so cannot repair it self it is completly reliant on logistics. ( bonus would be sizable BS class - 20,000 armour 90% resists, CAP class 300,000 armour 80% resists ) caldari/minmitar would recieve shield equivelant.
5. module, would (ground) the ship, 0ms and cannot warp/jump while module is active 30s-1min cycle time, ( so if your stupid enough to use it on a small gate camp, and a larger fleet jumps in and your mates run away, you are left sitting in a 1-2bill isk ship with no offence and no way to repair yourself)
6. i think this would be a good way to get alliances to use more logistics, inti's AF's and even covert ops, remember 450km is still on grid, you can easily sit at 500km from enemy fleet and relay intel you just would not be able to provide a cloakd warp in point untill the CDG ship has been destroyed.
let me know what you think of these refinements

granted the OP is out to lunch at the overpoweredness of his idea.
a cloak hunter should be just that a hunter requireing some sort of interaction not a bloated bubble auto iwin button

Cloaks are fine, yes, i can sit in a safespot all day afk keeping you from ratting, thus controlling your game. I can do nothing whilst cloaked except intimidate with the thought of me suprising you. I can also get behind enemy emplacements, i.e. a gatecamp and give intel.
Until i can shoot whilst under cloak and being untargetable , we don't have a problem here.

This is not the solution. Make cloaks consume fuel instead, so that you can only stay cloaked for a couple of hours without refueling.
