Edited by: Destination SkillQueue on 15/03/2010 19:49:02 You need to do some lolling first and then just leave, so the cat can leave. After that you should consider training your dog before it gets you into trouble. It now has attacked someone and you can't allow it to do that without your permission. As a owner you will be held responsible for everything it does and the next target might be the kind that sues you.
EDIT: Unless the vet comes with a ladder or tranquilizer darts, they aren't going to get the cat down and even with a ladder it is going to be a fight. The cat will come down when it feels safe, so it might be better to just let the cat get back home and let the owner take it to the vet.

The cat will have it's revenge. In the middle of the night when you dog least expects it there will be an unholy anger unleashed upon it, of which we haven't seen since the last cat that got ****ed off.
Example of the impending dogs doom:
In all seriousness though, if the cat is injured then you should get it the necessary help and foot the bill if the attack was unprovoked. If the cat attacked the dog though then it's asking for trouble but help should still be sought.
edit: added a better pic.

Fair enough, the dog was provoked it the cat was in its territory.
Also, probably best to make new posts rather than keep editing your opening post when replying as it'll quickly become a complete pile of crap to read once this thread has a bunch of replies.

As long as it all happens on your property you shouldn't get into any trouble. It might be the reason why the dog reacted in that way. Just defending the home territory from trespassers.

Can I borrow your dog for a week or so. I have an infestation of wild cat vermin breading like crazy, ****ting and puking all over the garden, and creeping into the house and stealing food at the slightest chance. One got in through a 6ft+ high window that was open about 2 inches one night. it ate everything it could get to, and then shat and puked all over the ground floor of the house. Maybe we could train the dog to scare off the batty old cat woman neighbour who feeds the damn things enough for them to keep multiplying?

Agreed. I love dogs and have had a few, fingers crossed I will have another sometime soon but I also love cats. Actually I have found myself to be a big fan of cats over the last few years. But anyone with any compassion for animals would care if a cat was hurt, just like a dog.

Edited by: Dray on 16/03/2010 00:36:26 I don't hate cats but I hate them in my garden using it as a **** pit, had a stupid argument with my old neighbour a while back about it, I asked him to try and keep it out of my garden, and he got all ****y saying he wasn't the only cat owner, he wasn't the only person I spoke to but like most bellends he took it personally.
It was then I realized that it wasn't the cats I disliked, but the owners, not all but some just don't give a f**k and I think some find it funny, either way it's 2-0 to my dogs on the eternal dog vs cat war and I don't get them in the garden any more, suits me.
on the OP's subject, if its not badly hurt it will get home ok, if it's still there you'll have to sort it out and get it to a vet, either way it's there for 2 reasons, food or toilet, if it's for food make sure there's nothing there for it beyond natural wildlife, and if its for a dump then your dog has persuaded it to go elsewhere to drop a log.

I'm surprised no one has thought to hurl the damned dog into the tree. Bet that solves the problem.
On a personal note I prefer cats, they don't require alot of attention and they're far less annoying than most dogs. I have a rottweiller puppy right now that just HAS to know everything I'm doing at any time.

Fair enough that animals gets into these kind of fights. Although this speaks more for poor ownership as the OP clearly did not try to restrain the dog (no collar?) after it attacked the cat.
Obviously, the cat is injured so I'd get a vet or try to find the cat owner. BE responsible, it is your ****ing mutt that injured it in the first place. |

Don't know about you, but I've found it wise not to get involved with animals fighting. Good way to get attacked yourself. Animals are not like people, all they know is something is trying to restrain them and they can potentially view that as an attack.
Surrender is still your slightly less painful option. |

Hi.
Tell your dog that that was pretty uncool of him. Put him inside. Then call a vet and while the kitty is waiting, tell her how sorry you are for the behaviour of your stupid dog.
And also, try to remember that for next time instead of posting about it right away.

I had a pit bull that was afraid of cats. I got her from someone that had a cat that absolutely hated her and used to kick her ass when she was a puppy, so she learned at an early age to fear cats.
She did kill a kitten I had once though accidentally. I'm assuming she bit it's head b/c it was getting into her food. She was really upset when we got home and found the kitten under a chair. I don't think she meant anything by it but warning off the kitten.

I never put a collar on my pit. When I got her she had sores from a chain choke collar her previous owner left on her, I never put a collar on her again. I either walked her with a harness or a nose lead. I kept her rabies vaccination tag on my keychain since she never went anywhere without me.

A cat is ten thousand times better than having a lap dog.
And I would have threw that doggie up into different tree if a dog did that to my cat! And then I would put on my lollerskatets seeing the cat can take care of itself (before I would carefully tends it eventual wound), while you had to climb up into the tree to speak with the doggie for some hours before it would even open its eyes - and then only in pantic!!!
