Scanner works just fine for me, perhaps yours broke because of your gratuitous use of caps?

This happens if you have a lot of hits, like in a busy empire system. Use filters to reduce the displayed hits and you'll be fine.

no sir this is 0.0 hunting and its not working so far, if i keep use overview settings ticed it works, but if i untick it it dont... so ccp :P fix?!

Yeah I am getting the same - but only when trying to scan 360 degrees, just started happening since downtime was working fine before downtime in same system.
edit - this is in a wormhole system.

Just out of interest, where is everyone that is having the problem? Just in case that matters to the issue. I am currently inside a wormhole.

I'm haivng the same problem as well. Tried relogging and that seemed to fix it briefly, I think I got one dscan off but it has stopped working. Initially spotted the problem in a WH and relogged in an attempt to fix it. Am now in highsec and am having exactly the same problem, logging off and on again has no effect.

Wormhole space. I got it working (not so well) by using combat overview and clicking the "use O-view settings" box. But I can't see probes and crap , of course. click off the box = endless session for it until it times out.
This be in my "not good" petition.
Hope there's a fix in the works; I imagine CCp are well aware they have a problem, and onlining more diagnostic gerbils as we speak. Patience, all.
EDIT: I'm not sure if this is important, but my CEO logged in as soon as the server came up, and interestingly, did NOT have to wait for the system to load. Interesting, in that we have a static (as yet scanned out, but not warped to) and one other hole (same conditions), which spawned shortly before DT. So according to my own theorycraft on this, we've had no one to load the system prior to him logging in.

or there eating lunch having fun time, what i would love is CCP SAY SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE INVESIGATING IT , cutting down my pvp life because scanner/ probes dont work

My scan probes seem to work just fine. Are yours not working?

After some testing, I've discovered what the problem is. The scan hangs if it encounters a "Force Field". Deselect "Force Field" in the Types filter and select "Use active overview filter" in the scanner window to fix the issue. You can have everything except force field on the overview and it works fine, it's just force fields.
Unfortunately, that means we can't scan for probes because the overview filter has to be engaged to filter out the force fields. This needs fixed ASAP.

Interesting. Must be more things that are broken but it only occurs when they actually come on the scan. In my current system, force fields are all that break it.

Ok I noticed my windows need updating (I don't have it on automatic as it turns PC off without permission in middle of fights :s). I updated, rebooted and logged back on and dscan is working.
IDK if this is related, if smth changed in DT and needs a windows update or they just sorted it out in the meantime, but it may be worth a try.

No Insa if you get the problem then reboot and its gone for a while. Restarting the client (game) doesn't help. You rebooting for updates would have fixed it for a while.

yes relogging fixed the problem, although not after the effects of the scanner freezing any other input commands in game cost me a ship and pod with implants. I had 3 accounts and 3 computers working at the time to verify it was not on my end at the time of the loss.
Hopefully ccp's customer service on petitions comes through!

It happens to me on occasions. I've only noticed it when accidentally scanning at max range in a busy system with no filters. Assuming it's a "resources" issue with CCP and see how they handle resource issues (blob lag anyone? 7 years and still counting, really?) I just try not to allow it to happen instead of asking/hoping for a fix.
The few times its happened a dock/undock clears it right up. It would definitely suck if docking or logging off wasn't an option.
Remember: If everyone wants something, CCP will not to give implement it, fixes included.
