Hello all,
A lot of players are seeing planets getting into a stuck state for them - not loading and the like. We have fixed the cause of this, but unfortunately this isn't going to stop stuck planets from being stuck - it should just stop new planets getting into this stuck state.
However, in order to find out if this has worked, we need your help...
Firstly, planet VI in FD-MLJ will be nuked from orbit (after all, it is the only way to be sure) and all existing infrastructure will be gone.
Then, I would like everyone who is interested to set up Planetary Command Centers on FD-MLJ VI and start playing with Planetary Interaction just as you would on any other planet.
If all goes according to plan, this thread will be filled with "this planet has never gotten stuck for me!" posts and there will be no "aww, FD-MLJ VI is stuck for me :(" posts.
BUT! *If* the planet does become stuck for you, there is some super handy information which we would like (alongside the usual logserver files etc). These things are:
1. Complexity of your network (screenshots would be ideal!) 2. Approximate length of time since viewing the planet worked correctly 3. Was there a downtime between then and now?
I hope this is not too much of an inconvenience for anyone on FD-MLJ VI at the moment, but it will provide valuable feedback to help us get rid of the stuck-planet problem.
Thanks,
Nimbus

The planet ate 3 PCCs of 4 I had in my cargohold. I set up the last near southern pole succesfully. After that everything worked smooth and I set up the following network: Linkage Once I get water, silicon and carbon, This network will start producing nanite repair paste - all facilities are in place, all routes are set up. ____________________________________ Open your eyes. Well that is rather odd. I've never experienced this myself.

I can confirm this, planet ate 2 of my 3 PCCs and only the last one was applied..

Good catch, we have reproduced this internally now :)

Another thing i noticed is this :
set extractor somewhere and scan for ressources. -> select aluminium for example, click cancel -> select any other material and the scan will show the exact same values as for aluminium and will also extract aluminium even if gold(for example) is selected.
and storages still dont like the PCC :)

the storage wont connect a route to the PCC u have to direct it from the processing facilities Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

hey, Not sure if this is what you mean, but if i scan for silicon deposits, and then try and scan for any other material with the same PIN, it keeps returning to silicon deposit search.
Only been using the new features for about a day, but it happens repeatedly.
Thanks

The behaviour of this bug: if you carry X PCC's in the cargo, the first X-1 PCC's are eaten by the planet, only the last one is put in place.
I checked with 7 PCC's (first 6 dissapears), with 18 PCC's (first 17 dissapears ) 2 times. If you only carry 1 PCC in your cargo it works fine at first try.

Those conditions may be needed to produce the bug, but are not sufficient to produce the bug. When PI first rolled out I immediately put 5 PCCs in my cargo hold (edit: they were stacked) and went about deploying them on planets, none got eaten.

Confirming out of 7 PCC in my Viator, 6 got eaten by the planet and only the last one got deployed on FD-MLJ VI. Non optimized Alum Nit chain (7 Proc, 1 Stor, 14 Extractors) works as per expected, barring non-obvious issues and/or false bugs due to the incomplete code.
Tbh, I find the "stuck planet" desc is a bit vague. Going into/out planet view? Unable to build PINs? PINs not running? What's stuck specifically!? |

I think the bug being discussed is where the UI gets stuck going into planet view, while the progress bar is showing.

As I mentioned earlier, we have reproduced the command center eating problem and will get it fixed.
If this thread could try to stay focused on issues which *only* happen on FD-MLJ VI - things like the planet getting stuck, or items disappearing, for example - that would make thigns much simpler :)
This thread is a great place to post about things which are not specifically to do with FD-MLJ VI.

Yes, all my planetary installations created yesterday (not only in FD-MLJ VI but also in VII, I, II, IV, V) have disappeared today after DT. But the "stuck thing" I haven't been able to reproduce in FD- VI despite of many log offs in different situations (planetary view mode active and inactive in space, in low orbit, or in station accessing through system map).

I did this last night going take a look at it later today to see what happens.
Fancy Pinning
Got two factories working (the only two) making aliumium nitrate, got several harvesters all harvesting stuff with a lifespan of 3days + so when I log back in they should all be still harvesting and made some routs between various places to and from harvesters and processors. I got all processors laid down processing one of each item despite the lack of maetirals to do so.

Originally by: Nova Fox *Snip*All of my extractors are offline and I cant figure out why though. Attempts to retask them results in foreman away from keyboard message. Also notice a sharp increase of apperant client lag when autozooming between pins.
Okay pins still there after update but as with last time all the previously extracting extractors are offline now and refusing orders, lag on zoom is worse now, previous scan for deposites are now presistent after trying something else with it.*Snip*
The reason they are offline is you're depleting them before their lifetimes ends. There is no link between lifetime and mining duration. When you begin extracting you can select the PIN and see the extraction time remaining. There was a post about this before that can be found HERE.
Do the math yourself and you'll see that most nodes/veins last about 3 hours. Quantity/Extraction Amount * Extraction Time = How many seconds the node/vein will last.

Stop ranting on about ruddy planets and fix whats already ingame first, ok.
Also "1. Complexity of your network (screenshots would be ideal!)" I'm sorry but you can't accept screenshots in petitions so I'm afraid no exception can be made and you will have to check your logs, oh what they show nothing, shame. Now stop adding borken things to hthe game and fix the broken things already in game - this is common sence. This is what the customer wants, why do you ignore the customer! |
