I chickened out of this mission after checking it out on eve-survival. The spawn waves are HUGE compared to other Lv3 I've done (9 BC in one spawn?!). Is this doable on a Battlecruiser (Myrm), or should I only attempt it after getting a Dominix?
I'm currently saving/training for the Domi, but the Myrm looks too sexy to give up :) |

This mission is doable in a very easy way :) Just use main weapon of Myrm - drones.those spawns are very far from you, while they are comin' closer your drones do 2/3 of the job. Watch out for trigers. |

Easily doable in Myrm.
Just remember to control the aggro, ie. do NOT kill the 1 differently named big (cruiser or bc) rat before the rest of that particular spawn are dead.

Did it once in an arty 'Cane. Probably the most intense level III mission ever for aggro management for non-Drake BC's.
It is hard to ferret out the spawn trigger while being missile spammed, but believe me, it will make you a better pilot if you keep a cool head. |

The Blockade is my favorite mission of all time! 2500 M3 of loot and 75+ pieces of high value salvage, in addition to the bounties and massive reward/LP.
That said, the Blockade will send you home in a pod very quickly if you don't know how to handle it.
Things to know : The rats spawn very, very far from you. In my mega beam Abaddon, 2-3 of the battleships are down before they even get into 'barely scratches' me range.
Beware of triggers. The next wave will spawn when this trigger dies regardless of how many rats are left on the field.
- How to pick out the trigger. - Lets say 5 battlecruisers spawn. 4 Seers and 1 Bishop, that Bishop will be the trigger.
So my suggestion - Fit rails and a drone range mod. Maybe some DPS/tracking mods too, since the best way to tank this mission is with a gank tank. |

Warp in at 0. Kill the stasis tower. Warp out. Warp in at 50 km.
In my Drake I just shoot everything while moving away (no AB or MWD). Never worried about triggers until I got to level 4. |

You are better to man it up, this is one of the easiest missions that also come with huge rewards and good loot. Also, the spanws are staggered and easy to kite.
Also, CCP does not make missions to pop ships, EvE missioning is to *make* money to afford PvP. With this concept in mind, it's easy to see how missioning is easy and repeatable and quite safe. There's like an handful of L4 missions where you need to pay attention enough so that you cannot 4 box something else at the same time.

Once done it like 5-6 times you won't worry about trigger any more even for the level 4.

Done the Amarr version a couple of times now, once or twice in a Navy Omen and twice in a Harpy. Getting the stasis tower out of the way first is very important. Then the rest I just kill till I get close to the hull and then warp out, rinse and repeat. But I love the hard missions in an under powered ship. |

This was the only lvl3 (Caldari space ver) that ever caused me pain/was a cherry buster to my noob skills couldnt tank it even with doing the triggers correctly. I finally cracked it by shield tanking and with some invuls instead of armor tanking with specific hardeners, I was using a Cane. Its a tough one but that shouldn't put you off trying it you easily have time to warp out if your tank breaks attempting it. |

Ran this one last night vs guristas in a 2x MAR II Myrmi. Next to last wave ran me off once to rep/recharge and adjust resists (mistook an energized reactive for an energized magnetic hardener), but otherwise, just floated around looting while hammerhead II's tore everything up... |

How much better would Vespa II be vs Hammerhead II? I ask because the recommended damage dealing is kinetic.
Edit: I went ahead and gave this a shot last night. Took a really long time (2.5 hours? memory is fuzzy since I was watching TV on the other screen), had to warp out several times to repair. Eventually finished it, and it was satisfying :) I must say the Elite frigates are really really really really hard to kill, took much longer than the BCs. I'm using Hammerhead II by the way. Is there a much better way to approach this? Hobo II? Hornet II? |

You definitely want to use the proper drones size (small) against the frigates, they take a long time already. If you use medium drones they'll take even longer. |
