I guess I would like an explanation why Dust 514 won't be coming out on the PC. I do have an Xbox 360 but I much prefer gaming on my PC. |

The unreal 3 engine ccp are using for dust has built in console support for a mouse and keyboard so its quite likely that it will be enabled. Tbh it would be rather silly of then to not enable it as a budget usb m\kb combo is around $10 at your local super store which is way less than even a crappy third party controller. |

the console FPS market is larger than the PC FPS market, despite the alleged (and debatable) superiority of the PC for that genre.
As has been pointed out, playing on a console with mouse and keyboard is entirely possible, especially with the XBOX. If you're like me and already have a console, then you're all good.
If not, then you're clearly a part of the unsullied 1337 PC gaming master race and shouldn't be stooping to the level of us lowly FPS peons anyway.
DUST being console exclusive is a non-issue. Some people just haven't figured that part out yet. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

I did not think I'd ever see a sensible post about this issue.
I was wrong.

Because cheating on consoles is not such a big issue like cheating on PC most likely
and because its a new market.

Just the latter, going to the PC market is going to attract mostly EVE players, going to the larger console market has the potential to attract a LOT more.

it will come out on pc i expect after the initial console sales go. Since there really is not that much of a problem with porting it to pc and it would be stupid to miss out on that extra monies, particularly since console can use mouse/keyboard it wont even be unfair that i can do a 180 in half a second with my mouse whereas a console player has to rotate.

I believe the reason they are releasing on consoles only is because they want to get at a new market segment that are the least likely to play EVE. They did their studies and found that console FPS players are the farthest thing from EVE Players, and being a pretty large demographic a great market to tap. There is also the issue of control limits on PC vs. console. PC players have much more accurate controls so they are at an advantage from the start, allowing the 2 to play in the same server would result in imbalances and huge gaps between the players. -------------------------------------------------- Everyone is born right handed, only the great over come it. |

Even further fixed by hitting mummy up for a tenner then jogging down to the local superstore and getting a cheap usb mouse and keyboard for his console. Provided ccp tick the check box in the unreal3 engine for the built in mouse and keyboard support that takes zero development time to impliment. AMIRITE CCCP!!

This thread violates Rule 17 and OOPE Rule 5. I'm pretty sure discussion of other games isn't allowed and I did ask even.

Dust 514 is not EVE. Therefore, per rule 17, we cannot discuss this game.
Please note that I have reported your post.

Because forum rules say so! Right? It's there somewhere in the EULA, that so long as you are subscribing to EVE, playing, looking at, or even thinking so much as about any other game, is illegal, and you will go straight to hell, don't pass go or collect ú200. I might be slightly over stating that, but in these crazy forum lock times you can't be too careful. _________________________________ ## You got that?
