Edited by: Anguz II on 22/03/2010 08:51:34 Hi
I cant seem to find a proper dps and cap stable mega fitting for lvl4 missions, either I do too little dps, or either my cap cant hold for more than 10 minuttes. Im a well experienced Domi pilot, drone specialist, but with the Megathrone, something is just not working. Can someone give me some fit tips ?
I typically use 3 armor hardeners, damage control, 2 armor reps and alot of cap rechargers etc :)

Cap stable 47% so you can drop a charger if you feel like it or use thorium which takes less cap then antimatter but you lose a lot of damage that way.

Tbh you probably should stick some 350s on a domi if you're a well experienced domi pilot. Rack of large guns AND dual rep will not run cap stable unless you are the kind of silly person that fits projectiles *cough*
The thing is, you shouldn't need dual rep, since you do double the dps and dps is just another form of tank. So, full rack of large hybrids = 1 LAR and you should do enough dps to manage most mishes easily. The Dominix makes up for the fewer and smaller guns by drone damage and can bring more types of drones and such, you'll probably prefer the dominix (although the mega does look shiny)
All the above is prolly crap Drone Guide

Cap stable, no CPU for the last slot unless you fit some faction gear.
If you really want to change to the Mega. Get your hands on a Navy version.

No where cap stable. But, you migrate so much damage and do alot more by keeping at 40-50km against serpentis atleast.

Your hitting the main issue with the Mega, hard to fit rails and tank for PvE, you can do it with blasters but not with rails. Honestly if you are Gallante you are much better of PvE in a Domi running dual 250 or 350 guns. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Yes, I found that to be true too, even though those fittings seems okey, makes my cap stable and all, but the tanking is not good, canŠt hold against a large spawn like I can in my Domi. Think I stick to my Domi and use the Mega to impress the girls on a saturday night cruise through the city instead

Not really.

Mine had a tacking enhancer instead. 3xHardeners is enough, Never had any problems besides in AE bonus room.
Regular Mega ain't that great, the Navy Issue is much better because of the extra low slot, larger dronebay(7x425mm T2 + Heavy/Sentry drones and still room for light/medium drones) and more CPU/PG so fitting full t2 isn't an issue.

350's ftw and forget that cap stable crap. just use the correct hardeners and you have high enough res. and you'll be fine.
1x faction or ds lar and 1x nanopump rig. 2x ccc. 1 or 2 tc. 2 or 3 mag. stab. pretty standard fit.

I fly a cookie cutter domi for missions but if I really was going to go for the mega (and I wasn't looking at lowsec or at war) then I would invest in the Navy Mega
- Serpentis setup (hence wasps) - 735 tank - 680 damage (about 2500 volley) - Cap stable (33%)

This:
I've been running a regular Mega for ages mission running. The trick is maximise Dmg and minimise incoming dps.
The bad news is to get it work takes a Faction LAR and Faction Hardeners to get it to fit.
I run
7 x 425 T2
4 CC T2
1 x Amarr Navy LAR 3 x AN Hardeners 3 x Mag Stabs T2
2 x CCC 1 x nano excel
Drone bay is mission specific Heavies \ Sents x 4 and 5 lights depending on the mission.
With Faction AM it kicks like a mule, when the cap runs low stop firing for a bit, rinse and repeat.
More cap stable than a Rokh :)

extremely ovetanked, too little DPS fit posted here
4x Hardeners, 1x EANM and 1x DCUII... and 1x Mag stab.
Ehm, why?
This is what my dusty Mega Navy has, never had any real problems tanking or with cap. (no EFT what im writing from)
3x Hardeners 1x LAR 1x Tracking enhancer 2x Mag stab 1x Cap power relay
3x cap recharger 1x 100mn AB
7x 425mm T2
1x CCC 2x Aux nano pump
5x Heavy/Sentry 5x Light/Medium

If you insist on flying a railboat for Lvl4 missions an aux nano/CCC rigged Hyperion makes much more sense.
You can use the extra mid slot for a tracking computer which will boost the tracking on 425's to something comparable to a Gallente BS IV-trained megathron pilot, and you can fit a good strong active tank. Also fit a sensor booster with a script for a boost to your lock range and you'll be able to chew up most rats before they get close enough to hurt you.
The only thing you lose is the ability to field 5 heavy drones at once - but they move so slowly that you won't really miss them at all.
That being said, they're both terrible ships for missioning.

full rack of 350mms ( I use lead, which isnt too bad) 3x T2 Cap rechargers (add one more if you dont add an AB) 1x AB 2x LAR 4x hardners depending on the mission 1x T2 magstab 3x CCC rigs
Add a full flight of hobgob 2s and maybe 4 ogres and it works all right. Just pay attention to incoming damage and the little webber/scrammer bastards |
