I've got one char (player A) that can access level 4 and 5 agents for CN.
I have another char (player B) I'd like to be able to run them with as well.
Up until now, I've been having player A get a mission, and player B finished it. Rinse and repeat. My question is, since player B can now access level 3 agents on his own, would it be faster to run 3s or continue to split the rewards on the 4s with player A?

It all depends on how fast you can do Level 3s, and what benefit do you want.
For faction or LP, chances are you can complete several 3s faster than you could 1 4, meaning a greater faction or LP reward. If it is purely isk, you may want to run 4s.
As an example... Gurista Extravaganza at level 4. This mission netted maybe 2500 lp, and a huge reward and bounty. However it takes me and my friend about 3+ hours to run. In that time, we both could run several 3s, netting more LP and getting us closer to the story mission.

the first question is, is this dual box? or single account?
cause if this is a dual account set up, then blitzing 2 level 3 missions with both characters is better for standings then single level 4's. Its safer in groups, but slower.
if this is a single account then its better to do level 3's while getting choice level 4's from the other missioner.

if it is for CN you can grind standings very fast in vour(right next to oimmo). there is a station there that has 2 lvl 3s and a lvl 2 agents (or was it 1 lvl 3 and 2 lvl 2's). either way just get all 3 missions, blitz em and wash rinse repeat. you will be at lvl 4s really fast

You can do both!
Have the characters in fleet, and share standings with the one running L4s and have the other run L3s but keep all rewards to himself. Blitz blitz blitz and you can be at L4s in a day.

Two pilots in the same fleet will get through level 4 missions faster. Focus on blitzing, skip storyline missions.
If the new pilot can't fly a battlecruiser or battleship (ie: doesn't contribute significant DPS), they can fly level 3s just as Dacryphile said.
Since you build up agent standings much faster than faction or corp standings, you'll get the new character running level 4 missions with less time invested by pairing up and blitzing those level 4s.

Thanks for the responses.
In this case, the 'new' pilot has much better skills than the current mission runner - and can blitz a level 3 in a matter of minutes.
It does seem to be faster to run 3s than to split 4s so far.

Even taking into account the standings gain with the level 4 agent specifically, as opposed to the NPC corporation?

One of the big keys to standings is Storyline missions. Take a few lvl 3's to get full credit and do those Storyline missions.

I'd have to agree!! I run angel extravaganza and am receiving over 5500 LP per mission and it takes maybe an hour if I am slow boating it and talking in corp.
