Edited by: Mike712 on 23/03/2010 17:43:42 Geddon, it has decent DPS, a good potential tank and a nice sized drone bay, only problem is you'll have to do without a prop mod, 3 med slots means cap booster point and web. Since the geddon has great range with scorch it's not too much of an issue.

Edited by: Mike712 on 23/03/2010 17:50:08 Well it's 3 times the cost, expensive is not a great feature for a solo boat, and suffers from pretty bad cap issues.

Here is kil2s solo fit, it works pretty damn well:
[Armageddon, PvP] Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Large Armor Repairer II 1600mm Reinforced Crystalline Carbonide Plates I 1600mm Reinforced Crystalline Carbonide Plates I 1600mm Reinforced Crystalline Carbonide Plates I Heat Sink II
Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800 J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator
Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Dual Heavy Pulse Laser II, Multifrequency L Heavy Energy Neutralizer II
Large Energy Burst Aerator I Large Energy Collision Accelerator I [empty rig slot]
Valkyrie II x5 Warrior II x5
Hm... woudln`t 3x trimarks be better? and heat sink instead of one plate?

The main premise of the setup is cheapness. replacing the damage rigs for trimarks kinda takes that out of the way.

The reason it doesnt have trimarks is that trimarks are expensive.
That ship would cost what, 20 mil to lose? Which is a good thing considering that a Solo battleship cannot easily disengage when things go **** up.
Also, I'll refer you to Linkage for examples of solo amarr battleships.
To cut costs, replace a damage mod or two with tanking mods and the rigs with gun rigs. Sure you'll probably lose dps or tank overall, but the cost of losing the ship falls by 75%
Moar solo battleship pvp ftw.

Geddon. You will be blobbed or at the very least out numbered every single time. Might as well go cheap! |

I'll agree with the consensus here and suggest a 'Geddon. With the caveat that I don't anticipate you having much success...
TBQH, the Geddon is not THAT big of an improvement over say, a harbringer. The only difference being that the Harbringer can hit cruisers and frigs easily, while the geddon will struggle to track these targets.
But it's your ship!

Right Click to overload in EFT. Comments on the thread: - The Abaddon *IS* better at solo PVP than the Geddon - 4 mids FTW. - A geddon loss will *not* set you back 20m unless you're straight T1 fitting it. Guns+Crystals will run you much more than that. - The Geddon is cheaper, but not by that much. You'll find that the price of a battleship overwhelmingly goes to modules and rigs once you consider insurance. - Laser ships aren't so hot at dealing with small things at close range - one of the staples of solo PVP. You can eliminate this by controlling where you engage and shaping the battlefield. In a belt, you can hide inside a cluster of roids (you won't be running from the fight this way...), and engaging on stations/gates means that small ships can't aggress you without gcc. 0.0 and highsec wars are slightly different. - I typically carry 4 ogres and 5 warrior IIs, but I'm thinking of switching for 5 vespa ECM, 5 Valks, and 5 Warriors. You *need* the frig defense.
BTW, I fly the Geddon.

Means the weapon can fire for 1 minute 16 seconds until it burns out and deactivates.

Am that means after that time it will shoot like normal not overheated?

Means your modules burned out and you need to dock to repair them. You aren't shooting at all at that point. Furthermore, that's only an *estimate* since heat is quasi random.

As long as they're buffer tanked it doesn't matter when you overload. However, overloading can be really handy for things like getting past the hump on a passive Drake and for scoring the kill before the sentry guns melt you. :)
I tend to overload at the beginning of the fight unless I know I'm looking at a situation where it's advantageous to overload later.
