A lot of players like to say in EVE, your actions do matter. Well, i have yet to notice how mine have affected anything beside buying or selling a few things from the market. So, anyone has an interesting story on how their actions did noticeable effects in the world of EVE?

Depends on what you mean with "noticeable effect". Your selling and buying limits/expands the wallet of another player that can limit/expand the wallet of a third player, which in turn will dictate how they behave in the short term.
Or did you mean, "Omygosh, I can't effect the entire political landscape of New Eden, so CCPs assertion is so fail." ---

I blew up a ship once, that person had to rebuild that ship, using minerals that someone else mined, which created a very slight change that was all unnoticeable...Yes I think my actions do matter. Just not big enough to see the big picture.

In a way, that's about it: the market. However, you need to realise what "the market" contains in EVE.
Mission running & ratting → creates ISK reserves that, as a whole, determine the value of all items on the market. Mining & manufacturing → creates items that flow into the market. Combat → destroys items and create a demand for new items on the market. Sovereignty → determines opportunities to mine and manufacture stuff for the market. Trading → has absolutely nothing to do with the market. Yup, yup, yup. None at all… so there!
Just about everything in the game is determined by the market, and the market is determined by everything that goes on in the game. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

I've given 6300 pilots access to jumpclones. No doubt at least some of them have used their clones in a way which has significantly affected others.

This guy, and other high profile figures change large portions of the game. But the super powerful people are alliance leaders. Look at Kartoon, failed to pay some bills and then dismantled Goonswarm, causing them to leave thier space, which will affect thousands of players.

This thread reminds me of the old Goonswarm propaganda poster.
Also a mercenary corp I was in wardecced an alliance and the entire alliance fail-cascaded before the wardec even went live. Apparently our wardec and the alliance's poor leadership was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Nah, i don't expect to affect the entire political landscape, but i would like to be part of some events where i would have some significant effect on the outcome. Kinda like when there was roleplaying in EVE (early days), when players participated in backstory events. I like when my actions have some far reaching effects, something worth remembering.

Once, I was all out of money. I had already loaned money from friends, and had just bought a PLEX because I'm a little too skint to be paying for Eve with real money. All sad and dejected, I noticed a Damnation wreck, and I had salvagers fitted to my ship. Lo and behold, I recieved 125 million ISK worth of T2 armor plates. I decided to play the market with that money, and turned it into enough ISK to keep myself playing and having fun.
It was probably a sucky day for the Damnation pilot, but because they lost their ship I can play Eve self-sufficiently.

While a single butterfly may catch the eye of an archer,.. who misses his mark, the villain escapes, the house is burned, bla bla bla ... the war is changed.
BUT - Does the butterfly know ? probably not.
I've been messing around in EVE since 2005. I've seen my freighter loads of Kernite affect prices. I've encouraged new players and brought friends in. My payments to CCP, ships built and players shot,... But the end effect ? IDK - I'm just McFly
Website guide builders, corp and alliance leaders, maybe attend EVE Fest and get a Devs number, idk. Billion ISK scammers or corp thieves,.. they can see some of what they've done.

I ****ed off an entire alliance when my mate and I lost our titan.
I also have had several people quit after I used the lofty tactic to take everything they worked for.
Having spent billions for no other reason that to spend billions helped out a few people I am sure. I have wardecced several corps causing them to disband.
I used to control a small area of 0.0 with two dreads when capital ships were still rare. Used a 35 and 40km web on each.

There's an old saying which I heard somewhere, which I've found applies to EVE in quite a few ways; It's something like:
When a horseshoe nail was lost, the horseshoe was lost. For lack of a horseshoe, the horse was lost. For lack of a horse, the rider was lost. For lack of a rider, the battle was lost. For loss of the battle, the kingdom fell.
Losing one solar system due to not having enough tritanium to build one more dreadnaught could mean the loss of an important capital jump point which could result in your forces being overrun due to you not being able to jump enough capitals in. Or something.

I once smartbombed a blue mining fleet, after members of that corp had stolen a 300million ISK faction mod from my plex. Which led to a massive lockdown of an important ice mining system for the better part of a day. Which led to me getting my ass kicked from that alliance. Which then had a massive public relations fiasco with the people we were blue with. Which didn't turn out so well, so they proceeded to wardec the corp I had joined. We owned their sorry carebear asses. Their CEO continued to taunt me for a significant time. Which led to me getting several spy alts into their corp. Who then removed a number of valuable assets from their possession. Which resulted in them loosing a large number of members. And ended up turning a once-proud alliance into a shadow of it's former self.
This occured over a period of around a year. Yes I believe I have made an impact on others in EVE.

what u fly and on the game level metadata on ccp datafeeds indicates future development so currently please use more faction ships in missions, please use wormhole space tec Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

Except that roughly half of EVE players have alts they do all their questionable things with, often using information gained from their 'respectable' character.

How much of an impact have you made in your RL life?
In eve, you've got to work hard to achieve something as in RL (relatively). __________________________________________

in answer to the OP:
individual players can affect the universe of EVE (although you have no right to it and only an extremely small percentage of the plaerbase will ever do so in a noticeable way), but today there is almost no way to affect the storyline (Factional Warfare is neither taken seriously by the players nor by the devs).
It has not always been this way - if you read for example the short story "the Spirit of Crielere" (which covers the development of the first Prototype Cloaking Device), you will find that capsuleers play an important role in the final stage of the story (with Doc Brown podding Fatal).
Mind you, the players played only a very limited role in this instance and didn't have the power to change anything substantial regarding the game itself or the main storyline - however, they left their distinct mark in the EVE backstory for posterity.
Ultimately, storyline events like the one mentioned above were found prone to favoritism and rigging and discontinued. (they were probably also quite time-consuming in planning and execution to CCP staff and the more players you have on the cluster, the smaller the percentage of them that can actually take part in a storyline event).

It's been said, but it bears repeating...
If you aren't going to do anything that will make a difference, then you're not likely going to notice yourself making much of a difference.

Well, if youre stuck in Empire space running missions all day, then sure, you wont affect the world very much.
If you by the way is a part of an alliance located in deep space or a pirate in low sec, then sure you make impact on the world. Either by owning whole regions, raging war against whole regions or by ruining logistics and transport/travel.
Empire space is a recuperation zone mainly, or a place for those who wants to stay out of the whole alliance business.

In order for that do happening you have to do something. Not everyone can be hero's except in scripted games with no persistence and EVE is not scripted. Just because you can change EVE it does not mean you will unless you get off your behind and make it happen.
As to the early days I suspect CCP did that to generate some activity. There is so much going on on EVE they simply do not need to do that anymore and for them to interfere in the game in that way would be wrong.
I would like events though, maybe attacks of aliens in Jita or temporary failure by Concorde or something. That would spice the game up but it would also disrupt it and give CCP too much influence on events, which I think CCP want's to avoid.
