One night while playing a curious thought crossed my mind...why dont they give shuttles 1 block in each slot (High-Medium-Low) or just 1 high slot so they can be used as "fighters" in fleet manuvers. I say this because, from looking at the designs of the shuttles they all but scream lightly armed fighters.

because why fly a ship (caldari shuttle) that would in your world deal 15dps, only be able to go fast or tackle, and have crap EHP?
Especially when for the same cost (condor) you can have 45dps, fast tackle, and armor rep in low?

Can't shuttles be produced faster and with fewer materials than a condor? Going fast, tackling, dogfighting, and swarming are the basic theories and principles that drive fighter design...the mitsubishi A6 zero, the Messerschmitt ME-109, the Focke-Wulf 190, the Supermarine Spitfire, etc, etc, etc... Your comment, though true...still doesn't answer the question that was posed...throughout the history of warfare light FAST fighters have swayed the course of countless battles. Would it be so hard for the devs to incorporate a fighter class of ship into the game? It would certainly make PvP even more interesting! Dude. Even a Rookie ship would outperform a small shuttle. Your proposal is useless. Even though I do want a shuttle with a bigger bay and a low or two.

SHuttles are shuttles, they carry tiny objects and a pilot around. Low-tier frigates are cheap and easy to manufacture, and if all you want is a shuttle with a couple slots, a rookie ship is even cheaper. A 1-1-1 shuttle would be no match for a Velator, and they can be built instantaneously for nothing. ======================

actually your wrong those were the basic ideas now its all about going in so fast and so stealthily that nobody sees you blow up all their stuff but really modern fighters are designed not to be able to dogfight but to launch missiles and be able to evade missiles that is their purpose dog fights will be a rare sight in the future if only becuase one side wont have any air power at the start of any conflict also in response to OP no because shuttles are for shuttling hence the name
