I had the same issue, couldnt find a client that would extract properly, when it finally installed it just locked up my system. I lost 8 whole hours of training
In the end i just dug out an Appocrypha CD and patched from that. Not very helpful i know :/

Try the issues and workarounds section. But then again, you might get a reply faster in here.

I have encountered the same error with yours ,but i finally figured it out. let me teach you: 1: download the offline installer. 2: dont let it automatically extract.manually extract it , 3: click the repairing button in your EVE installed patch. 4: after above steps ,you only need to download a dill file without which the EVE start app will fail to launch
then ,you can play the game.

correct: when you click the EVE launcher button, you will get a message box that tell you it fail to start the game because of lacking a DLL file.
the name of the file is "d3dx9_41.dll",you can find it on downdloading websit.it is easily to get.
the most important step is that do manually extract your downloaded installer.
and after do which, you will need to repair the game files,by clicking the repairing button which has been installed in your game path.

I think you should change or attach the DLL files which the faulting report shows

Actually, sounds more like a faulty stick of ram, or a bad couple of sectors on the hard drive which is causing the corruption issue.

Considering a lot of people have no problem with it, there has to be a problem on your end. There is only one problem on your end I can think of. Make sure you have enough space on your "system" drive, or wherever Windows stores your temporary files. Yes, the EVE installer does not decompress its files where you tell him to install, it does it in the temp folder then moves them all where you want them installed. Disclaimer: that's how it was last time I used it, and that was a while ago, so if that's not it... well, I'm out of ideas. So... have 5 GB free on the system drive, and another 5 GB free on the target drive... or 10 GB free if the target and system drive are the same (mwahahaha) just to be 100% sure it works ok. Ok, I might be exaggerating a bit, but... well...
P.S. Can you be a bit more specific about WHAT error you get ?

i had the same problem, i sit on a 60/60, so i have quite some good speeds. i tried the online installer, then the offline installer, then the bit torrent one, then the offline installer to another hdd, and online installer on another hdd.. all failed.
got my roommate to download and install with the online installer, no problems, i then just took the eve folder from him, and now it works perfectly.
